And they’re off!!!

Today has been a very interesting and unique first day of Nano 09. I started off late this year, usually I like to get off around midnight, but I didn’t get started until 3am because Jonathan got up very early to start the month! The little guy has been a little under the weather himself too, so we’ve been letting some of his early wakings slide these days. So I stayed up most of the night with him and then napped this morning. Do when Jon was watching TV and chilling with a blanket and juice, I was on the cpu pumping out the first 1600 words of my new novel.

I am super pumped about this novel, and feel it starting to go in the direction I want it to go. This is going to be a novel loyal to its genre but I’m going to go out of my way to sidestep each cliche that comes along and try to make this an original and very fresh novel for it’s specific genre. I am hoping those who read it will be blown away by it’s emotion, power and it’s ability to keep people on their toes. I’m a sneak writer and I’m using that to my full advantage in this novel. I can’t wait to post a few samples, but I think those who get first shot to read this are going to be pleasantly surprised, especially given the stuff that you’re all used to seeing me write up.

So my new book is off and running. I am really looking forward to finishing this one because it’s unique and quite a challenge. I will be posting the first excerpt for the reading pleasure of my friends on November 7th. Until they take care everyone and to my fellow Nano writers… good luck and get back to writing that book! 🙂

I’m a little over my daily goal today and hopefully I’ll write some more tomorrow. Best of luck to you and I can’t wait to read some snippets.

I was happy to be over the minimum word count today. In fact, I nearly doubled it. I just hope I can keep up that momentum and not hit a wall. Good luck with the rest of yours!

RYN: Oops! Is it time to quit writing for the day when you can’t tell your NoJo from your NaNo? 🙂
