An Evening With Yanni…

I just attended one of the best concerts have ever seen. It was everything I thought it was going to be and exceeded all of my expecations. While Yanni didn’t play my favorite composition (Reflections Of Passion), he did perform with a 15 piece band some amazing pieces that were performed to perfection. The concert was almost two and a half hours long, and there was no intermission. I had an amazing time…

It was very cool that he had such a huge band with him, as they were able to closely mimic the sound that a full Orchestra made during his more famous concerts. Yanni and his band were spot on, which is amazing cause many compositions where insanely difficult. The concert was sold out and everyone had an amazing night. Here are some videos that I managed to find on you tube. They are not from my concert, but its the same tour and the same songs performed at the show I saw. Check them out:

It was a great show, and a concer that I will not hesitate to attend again should he come back to my city on his next North American tour. I had a really good time, and hopefully next time I’ll have someone special to take with me to share the experience with next time.

Everyone have a good weekend and I’ll be around, maybe.

I’ve entirely forgotten about Yanni. I remember my brother playing a song of his to dance to at his wedding reception. I love Vangelis’s music, that other Greek composer, and this reminds me to check out Yanni’s work, too.
