100 word story for hoops writing club…

It’s been a while since I’ve tossed Hoops’ writing club a story and I feel bad about that. I’ve been bogged down with ghostwriting projects so it’s been hard to keep up, but I made an effort this time. I was fond of the idea of writing a 100 word story, so here it is for your reading pleasure!

Peter

It came out of nowhere, sailing across the blue sky before landing dead center against its target. No one knew who threw it but it was as funny as hell. The water balloon was filled to the brim and exploded on contact.

“What a shot!”

“Look at how mad he is!”

It was the first day of school and the headmaster had bought a new suit for the occasion. He hadn’t been on school grounds for more than a minute, and was drenched.

He stood there and smiled.

The year was young… there was plenty to get back at them.
