On vacation without guilt! Yay!

First off, I’m sending out a great big HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ALYSIA!!!   We didn’t forget her on her birthday though since she was in town early for the Ren-Faire and we gave her a batch of gifts then. But you can never have too many birthday wishes!

Right now my honey and I are enjoying Spring Break. Yay! For the past 6 years, one thing that has really grated on my nerves is all the time off he got! I know he works his butt off when school is in session and then he coaches too so his days are long once February rolls around, but still…a day off here, a week off there, 2 months off in the summer while I still had to keep working right along! But now that I am substitute teaching, I get all those little breaks too! It makes for a very happy camper let me tell you! Oh, and on a side note, Alysia gave me a good way to teach kids how to spell ‘February’ which I told my kids and they thought it was hilarious, but now they all know how to spell it. Her boyfriend had asked her how to spell it and in her amazement that he as a college graduate did not know how to spell it, told him it was "F-E-B-R-U-SERIOUS?!!" LOLOL! I love it! Of course this is the kid who when asked her social security number said it was "111-ask-my-mom!" She’s a cutie…most of the time! LOL!

So my long term job is going well. It helps to understand the language though! Science was just beyond me and I was pretty much useless. But I know English grammar and spelling, and I know how to handle these kids now, and they have figured out that they are going to work in this class! It really is becoming enjoyable for me. Of course, I am drowning in grading essays and prepping report cards and tweaking lesson plans and chasing down kids to make up tests and on and on and on so this week off came just at the right time thank goodness!

My honey’s vacation was cut a bit short though because of baseball but he won’t complain, he loves it. He does not love the way the team is playing very much this year…they have kind of ‘dropped the ball’. haha get it? baseball, dropped the ball? Oh stop groaning, it was funny and you know it! LOL!

Not so much news other than that. I do have a few pictures though. I brought cookies to a ball game for the kids and I got some cute shots of them chowing down on them and a couple nice ones of my honey in his uniform:)

Coming:

And going…
Actually he was going in both pictures, I just couldn’t resist getting a shot of his cute butt though! *grin*

If you look closely, you can see the players tearing into the two containers of cookies in the next one and then they all looked so cute with their cookies and chipmunk cheeks eating them in the next shots.

Kids never grow up when there are homemade cookies involved! Some of the cookies didn’t make it past the parents watching the game! LOL!

And of course baseball season is part of spring which is in full bloom down here, or at least trying to be. So with apologies to my family in NH still suffering through the snowiest winter in 100 years, here is a weeks old picture of our first crocus! (Or is it croci? lol)

The next pictures are of my African Violet absolutely bursting with blooms! This was a surprise to me since I had never been able to keep these things alive in the past. In fact when I bought it, it was an impulse buy because I had been thinking about my grandparents and these were my grandmother’s favorite flowers. So much so in fact, that Grandpa had built her a table with a grow light on it so she could have them all year round! They really were a sweet couple. <span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 255);”> Anyway, I picked it up without much faith that I would have it long, but it has been a couple of years now and every now and then, it does this…

So that is all my news for now. The house is still in disrepair and we are still stuck here. Steven is still working with no signs of quitting. Wow, that’s a huge relief. He has decided he needs a better education so he can do better though. *sigh* It’s the age old complaint…you should have listened to your parents then! But he’s doing well finally so we won’t say we told him so…much! LOL!

Hope everyone is well and happy! Sending hugs all around!
