I suppose I should update!

Not a whole lot more than the same old, same old going on with a few little highlights.

First off, we did not increase our family. One important thing I had forgotten about is that if this young girl moved in with us, she would not only be out of her school district, but also the entire county! She would have to switch schools and at this point in the year, she couldn’t catch up and wouldn’t graduate anyway. Luckily, it seems to be working out living with her boyfriend’s family. She’s the kind of kid that would pitch in and not cause any kind of trouble. She is leaning on hubby though since her mom is being amazingly bitter still and is doing everything she can to make it harder for her kid, like sending notes to school forbidding her daughter computer access! What the hell?! The kid’s 18 and thrown out and she can’t be happy with that? I just don’t get parents like that.

Our cars and dog are all about the same age (early 90’s) and strangely enough, they are running better than they have in a long time! One of the cars needs a repair that isn’t worth it for the cost and age of the car so the mechanic ‘mickey moused’ it so we can hopefully keep it on the road until the end of the school year and now it runs so smoothly it’s almost like a new car! All I can do is shake my head! lol. But it is definitely on it’s last leg and will need to be replaced before the year is out. We have some time though so that is a good thing!

And Jasmine astounded me a couple of weeks ago. I walked her into the backyard knowing there were deer out there. She is so old now that she hasn’t even been able to get up to a trot let alone chase anything. All she does is stare intently at whatever she’d like to be chasing and that’s it. When it finally moves, she just goes back to sniffing the ground. But not this time. When she walked out and saw all those deer take off into the woods, I expected her to whine a little and just watch them. But NOOOOO. This old girl who can’t even go upstairs and trips over her own feet actually took off on a full throttle RUN after them!!! All I could do was watch her with my mouth open in amazement and laugh right out loud! It was just wonderful to see the old Jasmine back if even for only a minute! And I was thinking "This old girl’s going out in a blaze of glory because she’s going to kill herself!" But there was no way I was going to take this away from her:)

Her age caught up with her though when she ran into the spot where the leaves are about 1 foot deep and she got stuck! LOL! It took three tries and lots of leaf clearing and picking her back up but she finally got out no worse for the wear. I had to keep hold of her collar though because she was trying to take off after the long gone deer again! It was a banner day for our old girl!

Other than that, we are not selling the house.  Actually we are, but I’m not admitting it since I just can’t handle the frustration and stress of not being able to. So I’ve decided that we aren’t selling and we are just doing improvements for ourselves! So far it’s working! There’s nothing like a good dose of denial to make everything all better! LOL!

random noter.. aww your dog sounds very cute 🙂 haha and I like your strategy.. to pretend your not so you dont have to think about it! 🙂

We have silly dogs! *uploading special treat to Jasmine*

Glad all is going pretty well. Real estate right now, “sigh”; I think your attitude is a good one. What goes down must come up again eventually and when the market does you’ll be ready.
