PS5 No?
$700.
That’s how much Sony expects people to pay for their soon-to-be released PS5 Pro console. The money is not an issue for me, though I want to make it very clear that $700 is not pocket change. There are a lot of other things on which I could spend that kind of money. Unless something drastic changes between now and that PS5 Pro’s anticipated release date of 11/07/24, I’m walking away. I can’t fathom making such a purchase, not only because of its price, but because of what I’d be getting for those $700.
The PS5 Pro will not feature a built-in disc drive. You can add one if you like, but it’ll cost you. I don’t know how much those will cost, but I refuse to pay for it. At that price, this thing needs to come with a built-in disc drive. And for some strange reason, Sony has opted not to include a vertical stand for this thing and that too will cost you extra.
I’m not big into specs or what the enhancements of this console are. But from what I’ve seen, the graphical differences between the standard PS5 and the PS5 Pro are barely noticeable.
I know that I’m not alone in this when I say that I’m not buying this. Sony is going to be taking another major loss with this supposed console enhancement. First, Concord. Now, the PS5 Pro.
Oh, and let’s not forget that earlier in the week, Sony decided to raise the price of their Dual Shock 5 controllers by five dollars. Maybe they didn’t think that anyone would notice?
Gaming continues to disappoint.
Eventually, I’m not going to have anywhere I can run to escape life.
I just want to stream to Discord. It’s all I want. Please, Sony. My little cousin can stream no problem with her Xbox that’s so old it’s made of cardboard, but my PS5 requires a separate app (that isn’t compatible with iPad OR MacBook??) and then you have to hook up a controller to THAT device and stream from it??
Yeah, no. I shall keep my $700.
