Plugging Away

The week that was is almost in the books. I continue to plug away and keep things moving.

Obviously, I continued to work and work all those hours as I do. This last pay period, I worked 70 hours of overtime, so needless to say that I’m getting things done. Still, I always get the impression that some of my co-workers want to ridicule me for putting in all of the hours that I do, but in the end, none of their opinions matter to me. I couldn’t care less about third-party perspective, especially from people who don’t matter to me. And truth be told, there are a bunch of people I work with that I don’t give a fuck about. So yes, work is work and I’m continuously working towards fattening that paycheck. My co-workers can say whatever the hell they want. I’d sooner tell them not to worry about what I’m doing and to instead re-shift their focus on whatever they need to do.

I think I’ve completely recovered from the cold that plagued me now nearly two weeks ago. I still have some residual mucus and phlegm, but I’ve since stopped taking cold medicine. I’m still popping cough drops like if I don’t, they’re going to evaporate, but that’s only because if my throat gets especially dry, a coughing fit is only seconds away from happening and those are always uncomfortable.

The weather has definitely changed to accompany the recent time change. Less sunlight means less heat and those warm temperatures are definitely a distant memory. I don’t mind these colder temperatures either. I had to delve into the coat closet and don my hoodie for the first time since the beginning of the year. I wasn’t even going to by shy about it, being that it was already cold today and then then wind wanted to pick up. Suffice it to say that I was cold and I still am. Even as I write this, I had to put on a beanie because the top of my head and my ears are also cold. Now, if only it would rain. I figure it’s already cold. Why not see some rain while we’re at it? I wouldn’t mind.

Speaking of rain, Serena and I are apparently of the same mentality that making love in cold and rainy conditions is something that we both find to be especially appealing. Of course, I’ll be honest. I’d make love to her, regardless of what the weather outside might look like. I know that when she and I are between the sheets, we both know how to keep the other warm, if not downright hot.

Jay and I continue to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on the Xbox Series X. I recently started playing Blazing Strike on the PS4. It’s a playable fighting game that looks to take a lot of inspiration from Street Fighter and The King of Fighters. I haven’t decided yet if this game is a keeper (I rented the game from GameFly), so I’m going to need to put in some more time with the game before I commit. If I decide to buy the game, I’ll likely pick it up digitally on the Nintendo Switch. The Steam Deck was charging overnight, but once it’s charged and ready to go, I’m thinking about downloading Maximum Football. I think it recently came out in Early Access, so I figure it might be worth giving it a go. I’m still looking for an alternative to the Madden NFL series, though strangely enough, I’m not against buying Madden NFL 25, especially since it’s on sale at Best Buy. Still, I’m reluctant to pull that trigger even with its current discount because Madden NFL has been mediocre for about a decade and maybe I could use that money on a much better game. I remain undecided.

I’m working tomorrow, though hopefully for no more than four hours. Again, this is my normal, though if I’m ever going to take a day off, it would be a Sunday.

Errands and other menial tasks will fill the rest of my Sunday. The NFL continues its season tomorrow as well. Hopefully Cincinnati beats Los Angeles. USC beat Nebraska today. I’ve since given up on college football this season, so USC being 5-5 really doesn’t matter all that much to me. I’ve stopped caring, at least until we take on UCLA. I mean, win, lose, or draw, USC is still my alma mater. If there’s one game that I will care about, it would be that UCLA game.

Well, all right. That’s enough about me. I’ve rambled on long enough.

What’s going on with you?
