From One Week To The Next
I didn’t do much this weekend. Aside from work, I typically don’t. I managed to do very little today in the way of work-related stuff, so I guess in some regard, I took a day off this week. I have a pretty busy week coming up, so maybe this was a good thing? I rest up today and then hit the ground running tomorrow. At least, that’s the mentality that I have right now. Come tomorrow, things can always change.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows finally released last week and from what I’ve seen on YouTube, this game sucks. Even if (or more like “when”) this game happens to hit the $15 mark or lower, I think that I’d still be reluctant to buy it. I’ve always been of the mindset that I will buy and otherwise own a bad game and through the years, I’ve picked up many a terrible video game. But for some reason, AC: Shadows just doesn’t look like one of those games that I’d ever buy, much less play. Actually, I know exactly why I’m not buying this game, much less looking to play it. One of the characters in the game just doesn’t belong there, no matter how much Ubisoft wants to convince us otherwise. Though we’re talking about a game that is set in what I believe is feudal Japan, Ubisoft thought that the game needed to feature gay and bi-sexual themes themes. As far as I understand, absolutely no one asked for that sort of thing to put in this, or any other video game, but yet, here we are. Gaming companies want to cater to and makes games for the “modern audience (a term that I absolutely loathe)” and in doing so, this is the kind of nonsense that we’re seeing on store shelves and on digital gaming storefronts. You’re going to see more and more terrible games that won’t sell as a result. That modern audience isn’t buying games, but hey, why not continue making video games for that very population? I am also of the impression that some of the game’s mechanics are off and dysfunctional, so even if the story wasn’t as ridiculous as it is, the gameplay looks to have been somewhat compromised anyway. Based on what I have seen, heard, and read, and speaking in very general terms, this game is a mess and definitely not what an Assassin’s Creed should be. This game, in just its first week of release, cannot be saved. It is utter trash and it’s not likely to improve.
I didn’t do much gaming this week. In fact, I didn’t play anything. I meant to. I just didn’t. Maybe this week? I dunno.
Speaking of stupid and tired, that new live-action Snow White came out. This movie is going to lose money and I couldn’t be any happier. Disney continues to fail and this movie is yet further proof of the stupidity and ineptitude that Disney continues to exude. I don’t care how one might want to justify this, but there is no world or universe where Rachel Zeigler is ever going to be Snow White. This movie sucks and it seems like the masses already knew that this was going to happen. I guess we just needed to see the movie finally release and see it fail in real time.
I didn’t watch any television this weekend, which is my normal. I’m almost done with the third season of Bridgerton. Depending on how I feel this week, I should finish the third season by Friday.
I meant to write more this past week, but obviously, I didn’t. I have plenty to write too. I just need to organize myself and my thoughts so that I can write coherently and look like I’m doing it with some semblance of motivation and intent. Again, I hope to write more in the coming week.
