Buffaloes And Wildcats Vanquished

I didn’t write about this last week, though I know that damn well should have.  Last week, USC handled business and beat Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes at their home stadium.  Colorado’s Folsom Field might as well be one of USC’s other home stadiums, being that USC has never lost there.  I know what the final score was, but I don’t care.  As I’ve said before and I’ll say it again.  Whether by one point or 100 points, a win is a win.  Colorado took the “L” last week against USC.  That’s all I needed to see.

I am well aware that USC’s defense is terrible, but the key was to not lose to Colorado under any circumstance and we did just that.  Now, just last night, USC had to take three overtime periods to finish off the Arizona Wildcats.  USC’s bad defense again had to make yet another appearance and I will be the first to say that this bad defensive play is eventually going to be the death of USC’s season.  The rest of the schedule will not let up, as we face the likes of Notre Dame, Utah, and Oregon.  I could include UCLA in that mix, but I’m not worried about them.  I am rarely concerned about UCLA’s football team.

As it stands, USC is 6-0 and likely to remain in the top 10 in the college football rankings.  I don’t know how long we’ll maintain that undefeated record, but until then, we will continue to fight on.

Our defense has to improve.  I’d like to say that it can’t get any worse, but that’d be a blatant lie.  It can always get worse.  Until then, USC will keep rolling until the wheels fall off and as of this entry, the axles are weak and the tires are almost flat.  We can’t continue with this defense giving up massive point totals to mediocre teams, because there is going to come a time when the offense will fail to keep up.
