Beautiful Spring Day
It’s an absolutely gorgeous spring day in my neck of the woods…..the windows are open drawing out the stale winter air and ushering in the fresh spring scent!!! I LUV IT!!! If anyone follows my entries for long you will find that I am a very sensuous person…I am dictated by my senses….the sight, smell, sound, touch and taste of anything has the opportunity to change my whole mood and outlook!!! Anyway the past few days have been busy….It’s Dee’s weekend with the boys so we have been spending lots of time together out and about and at the park. On Friday evening Nevaeh and I went shopping for my big monthly shopping trip. Since my money coming in is so sporadic and there is no definate amount I decided years ago to save throughout the month and then go shopping one time each month to buy the basics and stock up. It works better that way for me. I get all my laundry soap, fabric softener, toilet tissue, paper towels, pet foods and supplies, toiletries, canned veggies, fruits and staples such as flour, sugar etc. Then I only have to go weekly to take advantage of specials and to buy perishables. I go to our local Save-a-lot and Dollar General for almost all my needs and shop the sales at two local stores….IGA and a small family owned market that has the best meat short of having it processed yourself. I am a country girl at heart and while I live in town at the time for convenience I still have the country mind set and do as much of living as if I am in the country as I can!! I can and freeze garden fare in the summer and it really helps with the grocery bill!! At any rate on Friday night, as I said Nevaeh and I went shoping, I always take her with me as she is a great help when it comes to carrying it all in!! It’s also one-on-one time for she and I and she likes getting a little treat for herself…this time she picked out a new eyeshadow and eyeliner. She’s like her Mimi…very girly girl!! LOL She is allowed to wear a little mascara and clear lip gloss to school but when she’s at home she likes to practice her makeup skills!! Next year she will be allowed eye liner and the year after shadow then when she is a freshman she can wear all makeup everyday. It was pouring the rain and hail by the time we got home around 9pm so we waited for a little while to unload the car and get everything put away and by the time I took her to Dee’s it was 10:30. On Saturday she walked to my house and we went to the salon for her a cut and style…she got it layered and had bangs cut again…the first time in about 3 years for bangs. It’s an angled bob type cut and it looks so cute. While she was being pampered I decided to treat myself to a mani…I usually don’t splurge for such things and do my mani/pedis myself but I had done so well last week dieting and exercising that I decided that I deserved a treat!! Our appointment at the photography studio was for 3pm and the pics are super, super good….I just love this photographer she is great with kids and has the best props!! For this one though we just went with a white background and a fur rug the kids were in their everyday clothes….jeans and grey tshirts for the boys and jeans and a fitted blue and grey plaid button up top. She buttoned the 2 middle buttons and wore a light blue lace trimmed cami underneath. They all did great even though Gunther woke at 6am yesterday morning and decided to show some love to Sage and woke him with a kiss!!! LOL They both needed a nap by 3pm but did well and weren’t too fussy!! I kinda bribed them with the promise of Mc Donald’s if they were good at the studio!! Terrible I know but desparate times call for desparate measures!! I was a good girl as well and just got a salad and yogurt parfait. Not really a problem for me since Micky D’s is not my favorite place to eat, and we don’t go very often but the kids love it soooooo………that’s where we went. They all changed clothes and then we went to the park for a couple of hours. After I got home I decided to do my decorating for Easter and got my stuff from the shed and worked on it for the rest of the evening while I watched the House marathon on Bravo. I love that man….he’s such an ass but you got to love him cuz he’s so messed up!!! LOL I was so happy today to wake to beautiful sunshine!! After home church…I haven’t found a church yet that I want to attend so I just worship at home for the time being. Sometimes I watch a tv sermon sometimes I go to the park or river and read from the Bible or if one of the kids are spending the night with me I will teach them an age appropriate Bible story but I always devote a couple of hours on Sunday morning to spiritual endeavors. After that this morning I went outside and cleaned the guinea pigs cage and put him in the grass to munch on some fresh springtime greens. I also picked up some debris that had been deposited in my yard over the winter and messed around in my soon to be flower beds. Nevaeh came down early this morning and we went to the river and picked up some pretty rocks that I want to use for a rustic border for my flower bed this summer. A friend of hers called her and invited her to go to the mall with her so we left and she came here to shower and change. I worked out in the yard a bit more then came in to see how the race was going today…not great for Smoke so I’m not watching…just listening while I am online. I did some online birthday shopping for Nevaeh today…I usually like to shop locally but there are somethings that you just can’t find in a small town and if you do the price is more than I want to spend!! I got her a Glee CD, one of the latest Now that’s What I Call Music CD, some screen protectors for her cell and a lime green zebra striped snap on case for her phone. That’s probably all I will get for her maybe a few odds and ends but we decided that I would pay for her party and that would be my gift to her. Her birthday is on the 21st of April but she wants a pool party this summer so we are going to go all out and have about 50 people!! It should be really fun and she has some good ideas for a theme and favors. So on her birthday I will just give her a few things and her mom is allowing her to have a small slumber party with 3 friends and is doing a taco and ice cream sundae bar and we are saving the big celebration for the pool party. Well I guess I better go for now….Odie is telling me he wants to go out NOW!! And I need to go to Dee’s and say goodbye to the boys before they go back to their dad’s for the week. Blessings to all!
*smiles* Our daugher’s birthday is the 21st also…How’s that for a random comment? Just finished reading your first three entries, and I’m trying to place who you are…I know we’ve already met from your list of bookmarks…just haven’t placed you yet. 🙂 You write nicely, and I’m sorry to hear about your brother’s passing so early….very sorry. 🙁
