Genius or Trollope?

The weekend did not go as planned. I was supposed to pick up a floor sander on Saturday and get to work on the floorboards downstairs over the weekend. This did not happen because HSS tool hire are a bunch of knob heads who couldn’t organise the proverbial drinks party in an a beer manufacturing plant. Apparently they did have an edge sander. In fact they even had a standard sander. What they didn’t have were any sanding disks. I’ve been promised the device next weekend at a huge discount. That said, they were supposed to call today and I have yet to hear from them.

We have however been continuing to prepare for the plastering to take place. This should be in progress as we speak. In fact, by the end of the week, or the following Monday, it should be complete.This I am looking forward to. I cleared the furniture out last night, which included chucking out the armchairs, which are currently in the garden being rained on. I recovered a total of £3.29 in change from them. They will be thrown out at the recycling centre very shortly.

Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the EU Commission, has said that EU integration is about the only thing preventing another World War breaking out. Do all politicians think the public are stupid? What a ridiculous thing to say. It’s difficult to understand what the hell he was trying to achieve with that statement. Is he trying to scare people into becoming pro-European? Incidentally, what is the difference between President of the EU commission and Herman Van Rampuy, President of the EU Council? Are we paying both those clowns?

Miley Cyrus continues to enjoy a huge amount of free publicity with her skilful manipulation of the media. Her new video for the song “Wrecking Ball” is on the entertainment page of just about every news site on earth. It’s either bravely testing the boundaries, or just very dirty depending on your point of view. I still say she’s very smart and knows precisely what she’s doing. You’re not going to see that video on daytime TV, but according to starpulse.com 14.7 million people (or 19.3 million according to the BBC) viewed it on Vevo in 24 hours which is a new record. Genius or Trollope?
