It’s a girl! and other long-overdue updates

Wow, I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve written in here. I’ve had several times where I wanted to write about something, but then I thought it had been such a long time that it would be weird to just come on and write some random thoughts, so I’ve just kind of let my diary fizzle out. So anyway, some updates so I can pick it back up again…

First of all, if you can’t tell from the entry title, we found out we’re having a girl! She’s due in just over a month. I can’t believe how soon that is!

Hubby took the job in Vermont, so we moved a couple months ago. We had to move twice, since the first apartment we moved to was terrible (never ever rent a place without going to look at it first!). So we’re finally settled, but still have a lot of stuff in boxes. Baby’s room is not even close to set up, so here’s hoping I don’t go into labor early!

It’s been very strange moving away from my family and everyone I know, especially right when I’m about to have a baby. I just got back from visiting for Thanksgiving, and it was really hard to leave again. I didn’t even realize how attached I am to my family until I had to leave them. And thanks to pregnancy complications and frequent doctor’s appointments, I haven’t had any time to get out and meet people, so I still have no friends in Vermont. I’m hoping maybe I can join a mom’s group or something after the baby comes. Kind of backwards–I’m hoping having a baby will give me a social life!

Anyway, that’s mostly it on the updates. I think I’m going to try to write in here more often again, because I miss it!
