Adderall Rocks!

I went back to my crap doctor on monday, because the drug he forced me to take made me crazy. Seriously, I was crying for no reason, dizzy and disoriented–it was horrible. And that was after one day on the Strattera. I swear, this doctor must work for Strattera, because he tried so freakin’ hard to push it on me. When I called him to let him know the side effects I was having, he still insisted that I should keep taking it (even though all the websites list those side effects under the "call your doctor and stop taking it immediately" section). I finally just flat out said, "I feel crazy, I’m not going to keep taking this, and I need to find something else."

So he finally agreed to schedule an appointment. He’s really a jerk.

I had my mom come with me, mostly for moral support, because I hate dealing with this guy. She agrees with me that there’s something very wrong with him, although we couldn’t figure out quite what it was. Partially just the fact that he’s a psychiatrist but doesn’t listen to people at all!

So I went into the appointment, and right off the bat, he started pushing the strattera again! When I finally insisted for the fifth time that I was not going to take Strattera, he agreed to let me try Adderall, but then went on to warn me for 15 minutes about how it had street value, and my friends would try to steal it. I told him that I don’t have friends like that, and he kept just repeating himself until I just let it go.

So that was an experience. But now, this is my 3rd day taking it, and I love it! It calms me down and makes me focus. And I have gone for 2 days without any caffeine, and I don’t even have a headache (I’ve been hopelessly addicted to diet coke since I was 13–like 9 or 10 cans a day). Normally when I try to even cut down on my caffeine, I get migraines and I’m all shaky.

I can tell it’s working, because if you take Adderall when you don’t actually have ADD, it acts kind of like speed, and that’s not the effect it’s having on me at all. I’m a lot less jumpy and anxious, and I’m just overall in a better mood.

The only thing that sucks is that I have to go back to the doctor in 2 weeks. Ugh, I hate him.

wOw, i think that doctors get bonuses when they prescribe certain medicines. Your doctor sounds phony and I would probably look for another one if I was you. Im glad that this Adderall is working for you! 🙂

RYN: Im not on anything, yet. I really need to make a doctors appointment, like ASAP. I was on prozac and buspar for 5 years between ages 15 and 20 and then just decided to quit. Maybe not the best idea… I was “ok” for awhile. Not now. Im glad Addy is working for you. I think my boyfriend was on that and it didnt work so well for him. They change his drugs everytime he goes in. That cant be good for him. Hopefully he will find something that helps, eventually.

I’m glad he finally gave you the meds you knew you needed though!

They do get paid commissions to force certain stuff on you. Usually the shit that’s still semi-experimental and hasn’t been fully tested yet. But it’s still your body, and you still have final say what goes in it. If you have a hard time speaking up, try this trick my boyfriend taught me for the WIC nurse. Pretend you know he did something that is morally reprehensible to you.

(Cont) Like pretend you know he licks his dog’s rear while masturbating to child porn. Something that will make you feel miles above him morally and intellectually. You’ll have a whole different demeanor and therefor the interaction will be entirely different.

What are those for? ADD? I got confused… do they possibly affect your cycles and/or fertility drugs? Just a thought…
