Yesterday

Yesterday was a lovely day weatherwise. The sun shone, the breezes blew and I sat outside under the sun umbrella and read most of the day. I stacked up the unused chairs and moved up an Adirondak-type chair and put on it the pad I had bought a few days ago. The sloping back is much more comfortable for my back than the upright backs of the other chairs. Unfortunately, it is raining today. I haven’t looked at the forecast as yet but I hope it clears up this afternoon.

Last night I got into bed, settled myself down and reached for the Kindle. But when I tried to "turn" the page, the screen froze! You can imagine the horror! But, after a moment or two of panic, I remembered that there is a reset button at the back. However, since this involves taking off the back and inserting a straigtened out paper clip or something of that ilk into a tiny hole, I decided I would do that this morning. Taking off the back is not a big problem. I have done it before when I was inserting the SD card. So, this morning I took of the back, inserted the straightened-out paper clip and voila! The whole thing was back to normal.

I took my books back to the library yesterday {driving, not walking } and Amanda remarked that I hadn’t been in for a couple of weeks. So, of course, I had to then show her my Kindle! She was VERY interested and said she had been thinking of getting one. Incidentally, the Kindle in its case fits perfectly into one section of the three-sectioned leather purse that I bought in Italy. That section might have been made to carry the Kindle.

Before I settled down to reading most of the day yesterday, I gave the kitchen floor a good cleaning. I am still not back to doing a room a day but it won’t be long before I am. Today I need to get our bedroom done and especially my side of the bed which is very cluttered…

What I am reading:

  • I have finished The Know-It-All by A. J. Jacobs. I enjoyed it a lot. I may offer it as my suggestion for the book club instead of the poety I was going to suggest.
  • The other book I have on the go is Crossroads by Barbara Hambly.

Did you see the Kindle in Italy? You didn’t mention it and I wondered if we are again that far behind on technology. Our phones are useless as compared to EU and Japan and others. I knew it was only time that was waiting for you to catch up in the health dept. Enjoy the weather, we had downpours and hail this morning at 3 til 4. Great writing weather and I enjoy the power. have fun…dan

We had a nice day yesterday, too, but it was hot and humid. Has the screen frozen up on you before? That would be very irritating! I’m surprised that it is already acting up. Enjoy your weekend. Don’t overdo! (((Hugs)))

Enjoy your peace and quiet 😉

I wish I had more time to read. I need to get new glasses. Denying the thing about my eyes is getting silly. The Kindle thing sounds fascinating.

It was fate if you had the purse first! Are you enjoying having it?’ I tried everything with the external portions of the computer for sound. It says that I don’t have a sound device connected, and I have no idea why!

What a lovely day you had yesterday! We are supposed to maybe get some thundershowers today, but so far it’s sunny and threatens to be hot!! :oO !! hugs, Weesprite

It’s been very hot and humid here. Almost too hot to be outside at all. I just LOVE the adirondack chairs. They are so comfortable! Hope you get sunshine tomorrow so you can enjoy them again! Hugs, M

You read a lot!!!I used to spend a whole day on a book; alas, no more! Ha! Now I read on the train or waiting room (or write!) or late at night in bed if I am not too tired. How many books do you think you have read this past year already? You could probably work for a publishing house..ha! Well..hi! My first time in your diary. Just had to leave a note. Take care.

I always like it when a “case” I have fits a new gadget!

My Kindle has been problem-free so far. *knock wood* Had to buy a new purse to accommodate the Kindle…I will never ever leave the house without my Kindle, heh!
