Yawn! And some Questions

I was up at 2:30. That is in the morning. This is the first time since the surgery I can remember being woken by pain in the hip. I have a feeling I may have lain on the incision in my sleep. I took a pain pill, made and drank my coffee, and had some toast and now I am contemplating going back to bed. However, I think I had better wait until the visiting nurse calls to tell me what time she will be collecting blood.

Things to ask the doctor tomorrow:

  • When can I drive again? I am thinking in two weeks which will make it 6 weeks since the surgery
  • I need a refill prescription of the 5 mg oxycodone pills
  • I need a referral to a physical therapist—hopefully the one up the road from where we live.
  • Do I still have to sleep with that damned pillow between my legs and if so, for how long?
  • The rat-poison blood thinner prescription {warfarin/coumadin} has three refills on it. Do I really have to take it that long? If not, when can I stop? {That stuff really makes me nervous and I am sick of having my blood taken. Of course, if I need it to ward off blood clots, I will take it.

Things to do today:

  • Get some sleep
  • Get the recyclables out into the proper can
  • Call to see if I have to pre register for the visit to the doctor tomorrow. I am thinking probably not since the only time we have to pre register is if it has been over a month since we last saw a physician. But since I have to get an X-ray first, I want to be sure I don’t have to stand in line to pre register for that…

They say when patients become cranky it is a sure sign of recovery. Thought of you yesterday when I saw a display of Roman artefacts. I need to go to Italy and see the real deal.

It’s kind of ironic isn’t it that a rat poison could turn out to be a life-saving medication for someone prone to bloog clots. 😉 It all depends on the dose.

I’d say you will be on the blood thinner at least until you see the doctor. Usually, you are not kept on those all the time unless you do have problems. You haven’t had any, so I’d say the time is getting close for you to be off of them. (((Hugs)))

Everything is falling into place and you certainly always have a plan of action. You have made such great progress.

Sounds like you are getting very tired of the recovery, which hopefully means you are feeling much better. 🙂

I hope you get a lovely nap in, today. I hate it when I need a nap but have to wait on something like a phone call, before I can take one! hugs, Weesprite

My mom always had a list of questions for her doctors. :o) When my children were small I did too.
