Yawn!
- So, here I am at 3 am and I can’t sleep.
- My very nice mother-in-law used to say "3 am in the morning." I always wanted to ask her did she say that to distinguish it from 3 am in the evening, but I didn’t because she was a very sweet person and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings.
- Some people may remember that I had to give up coffee after that horrible episode with gastritis? When I have been going to K.’s house for art she always asks do I want coffee when she makes some for herself. Last week, I tried a cup and it didn’t seem to hurt my stomach at all. So, this morning I tried a cup with breakfast. I really enjoyed it so I am going back to one cup a day and tea in the afternoon.
- I went out today for groceries and got everything on Fred’s list except the cucumber. I really have to go back to taking a pen with me and crossing things off the list when I get them. I checked that list at least three times and my eyes just slid past the "c" word every time!
- The book group meets tomorrow and I am only half way through the book. It was not available for the Kindle so I had to get a dead-tree book. I am having difficulty reading the book because the font is too small and not dark enough and there is no switch on a paperback book to change that!
- Our new telephone seems to be working out well. Fred seems to be enjoying having a hand set right by his chair! The other hand set is in the kitchen so he can get that easily when he is in there.
- Well, I guess I had better try going back to bed.
"We don’t just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary." – Booker T. Washington.
"We are taught you must blame your father, your sisters, your brothers, the school, the teachers – but never blame yourself. It’s never your fault. But it’s always your fault, because if you wanted to change you’re the one who has got to change." — Katherine Hepburn
I never take a list when I go shopping. Indeed I have no clue what I want until I see it. 🙂

If I don’t mark things off my shopping list I either miss something altogether or end up with multiples of something. I don’t understand how people shop WITHOUT lists! 🙂

I’ve really come to enjoying reading books on my iPad 2. Plus, I’m more likely to read older more literary books because they’re likely to be available free. Good news about the coffee.

yeah, that being able to change font size on my nook makes it a bit difficult to read a real book. you can change the darkness of your kindle? can’t do that on a nook unless you can on a nook color. sorry you were up so early. hope you were able to get back to sleep okay. take care,

I have a program on my Palm Pilot called “My Shopper” or something like that. It’s the only reason I even keep my Palm any more because I don’t want to lose it. You build a database of the things you shop for, and even put in which aisle it’s on in your store, then it’s SOOO easy to just tick off the items you need, then you have a list that’s in order by aisle number, and you tick them off as yougo along. I LOVE IT! I don’t know if there’s an app like that for the iPod Touch, but I don’t want to have to start all over again with a new database, although it wasn’t that hard to do, come to think of it.

That’s one of the things I love about my Nook — the ability to adjust the font size. That is such a blessing. I so understand the being awake at 3am…

I’ve heard it said the same way, “3 a.m. in the morning.” I wonder if it has anything to do with the transition of immigrants from Europe to America? They use the 24-hour clock, ergo there is no 3 p.m. in the afternoon. (3 p.m. is actually 1500) Hope you were able to get back to sleep.

Gee, “dead-tree book” sounds rather repulsive! I’m not sure I want to pick mine up tonight…..

I’ve started having to rely on lists for everything. I would love to be in a book club. But now that I’m back with mom and dad temporarily we live way out in the sticks and their car is a stick shift which i can’t drive. I thought about an book review email group.

Finally getting caught up reading journals… there was a popular song of the 1920’s “Three O’clock in the Morning”… that might be what your MIL was referencing to…
