Work, Work, Work!
I have worked solidly all morning on my Italian homework. There were 14 exercises to do! Yes, you read that correctly –14! I was aghast! Anyway, I had already started them earlier in the week. Now I have got them all hand written in my notebook and all typed out. I have also started the correction step where I get to check my non-touch-typing of a foreign language against the book. So far I have discovered one sentence where I left half of it off and a couple where I miscopied a word. This is much less than last week so I am improving!
I stopped because my eyes were crossing and I was ready for lunch. I had just finished my meat loaf sandwich when the furniture delivery people arrived and the new high chest was put in place in the dining room. Fred will put away all his "stuff" in the next few days and then —can you believe this? –there will be no boxes left to open! Well, except for the ones I mailed here when I moved and which haven’t been opened in going-on eight years! I intend to offer as much of whatever is in them as people will take on Freecycle. If I have found no urgent need for whatever is in there for that length of time, there is nothing in there I really need to keep!
Yesterday I tidied up the art room because I really NEED a desk and I wanted to see if I have room for one. if I can find a really small student desk, it will fit nicely. At this point I am doing my Italian sitting in the living room with my book balanced on my lap. This is not conducive to doing good work so in the next couple of weeks I will be looking… Tomorrow I need to work on my art for class on Monday. I have done no art all week. Italian is definitely taking up all my time and energy.
Ok, time to get back to my homework!
Until later….
I think it would be great to learn another language. I admire you.

Maybe THAT’s my study problem. I don’t have a specific place to study. On the guest bed, kitchen table, TV tray in the computer room, living room sofa…my desk at work. Hmm… Need to mull this one over. Sorry. Your entries always get me thinking about stuff. Meanwhile, back at the farm, I think it’s amazing how much you are learning and doing. I agree on the “If I haven’t used it I don’t needit” philosophy. Wonder what’s in those boxes.

You are right. If you haven’t used it in 8 years, it isn’t any use to you. Perhaps a women’s crisis center could use something that’s in there? Just a thought. They’re my “pet” charity along with CASA. I admire your gusto for learning.

Good morning brainiac…hope the studying is as much fun as it sounds. I’m sure you’ll get that “A”.

There’s no end to your learning! 🙂

buongiorno Patricia. Sono molto contente per il suo exercises. Et voilà , I’ve run out of Italian. But I’m glad you are doing something you enjoy … and even more glad that you will have a desk.

Having a desk was always important to me, too. And I had to chuckle about those boxes you haven’t opened in eight years! (I bet we’ve had some of those before….) Anytime we’ve moved, I just wished I could throw most of the boxes away, unopened, once I got the few essentials of life located and unpacked! hugs, Weesprite

You continue to impress me. I hope that when I get up into MY 70’s that I’m as cool as you are! Can’t wait to see more art! Love to you! ~M

I have been going through things that I’ve not used in years. Destuffing my life as it were. Plenty of places take donations if free cycle doesn’t bear fruit.

You left an entry in Mia’s diary saying you were given great advice once “choose your battles” – did it mean be careful what you want to make a point of not putting up with in a relationship? Or something else? What was your take on it?

It’s 7:47 central time and I am hoping for you, that your Italian homework is done. Then maybe you can relax some tomorrow!! Laughing at the unopened boxes. Sounds like something I would do. I try to sort through things about twice a year. What we don’t use goes to the childrens home thrift store. My husband cant stand it when I start in as he is a big pack rat! LOL Have a great Sunday!
