Whoosh! Watch Me Go!

I had a lot planned to do today but so far I have done nothing that was on the plan!

  • Fred found he has mislaid/lost his debit card for the household account last night.
  • I check on line last night and this morning and no withdrawals except what he made so that card is sitting somewhere sneering at us!
  • Last night he calls a 24 hour helpline for our bank. There was no answer!
  • After going for a walk with Leslie this morning, I take what is needed like identification and the card number and drive up to the bank to talk to a real person!
  • I get a very new teller who is helpful but s-l-o-w! However, the card eventually got cancelled.
  • However, it is not  a wasted trip because I get my car filled with gas on the way up. I love it when I can do two or more things with one trip!
  • The card is cancelled but there is paperwork to be signed for a new one, so I zoom off home and get Fred to sign it.
  • Off I zoom again back to the bank to turn it in and, since this branch is in the grocery store, I also pick up some coffee filters since I get neurotic if we are on the last "clump" and don’t have any in the cupboard! So, again, a trip where I got more than one thing done. This is a Good Thing!
  • We decide NOT to go to Costco today {which was our original plan} but to do it on Monday instead.
  • In a few minutes, I will walk down to the library and when I get home, I intend to do nothing for the rest of the day!

Fred was teasing me this morning about the things I absolutely have to have or I get all neurotic! One is that my gas gauge must never drop below half.  I must always have back-up toilet paper and paper towels for the kitchen. However, the former is MUCH more important that the latter. I can always wipe up kitchen-spills with a cloth!
I rush out and buy more whenever I use the last light bulb. A lot of this comes from the many years in lived in a house out in the boonies of Mississippi. Buying groceries was never a quick trip to pick up something. I had a master list and added on to that. This time is also why I never let my gas gauge get low, too. The nearest town was 35 miles away and the nearest neighbor was a long walk!

Well, time for me to walk down to the library. And again, I will be changing my books and getting in my second walk of the day! {straightens halo!}

Until later….

You always are busy, whether or not you are sticking to your original plan for a given day! :o) !! I have become so terrible about waiting ’til the last minute to buy things….’til the last roll of toilet paper, or ’til the last light bulb or the last two drops of detergent!! I must improve!! *makes mental note and tacks it onto forehead* hugs, Weesprite

I’m that way, too! I have a “stock up” closet where I put cleaning supplies, paper goods, etc. and I only buy them when they are on sale and then I buy a LOT. I don’t know what makes me this way, but I get very nervous when I see only one of something in my cupboard. It’s good to know that there is someone else that’s similar in nature!

I’m the same way about toilet paper. I run my gas tank down to empty, though, probably because I go by gas stations every day and there’s usually no problem finding one when I need it.

Now that you’ve cancelled the lost card it will pop up and chuckle, as well as sneer. That has happened to us. I’m on the same page almost as you in regard to having to have some things in stock. I do tend to wait until toilet paper is almost all gone before buying it. That’s why I just bought the largest package they have. It takes up a half shelf in our linen closet. The other half shelf is stocked with paper towels, shaving cream and like items.

i agree that it’s a good feeling to accomplish multiple things on a trip out. i’ve never lived far away from a store, or a city even, but i don’t like to just run out for ONE thing either. Glad the bank card incident wasn’t serious. RYN: Was just curious about # of steps. i’ve been trying to walk at least a couple miles a day, aside from just the basic walking here and there. Yesterday i did a new 45 min. yoga routine though and am too sore today to walk!!!

Don’t you just love days when you know you deserve a halo!

Well, considering where you live, and the fact that winter tends to be mighty fierce and cold through there, and being snowbound is a real possibility, I think you are extremely sensible with your tendencies! And thank you for your notes.

my husband gets panicky if we have less than 2 rolls of toilet paper in the house, he won’t use anything but real butter and i will not allow my gas tank to get below one half! i guess we all have our cute little quirks! take care,

You are doing awesome with your walks & inspiring me too. I hope my ex-ray turns out good on Thur. If it does I’ll hit the trail on Fri. Hopefully the day will be bright & I may even take a few photos outdoors of our snowy wonderland. We actually have very little snow for this time of year. I wish we had more so the snow machining would be more comfortable.
