Walking, Snow, & Christmas…

This morning, I got into my winter coat, scarf and gloves and went out to sweep the snow off both cars. I am determined NOT to let it pile up as I did last year. Last year it took me about 45 minutes one day to get the accumulated snow off both cars. If I do it every day it snows, it will take five minutes as it did this morning. Actually, this is yesterday’s snow since we had none today so far, and this snow was light and fluffy and thus just slid off. After that, I took a nice brisk walk round the block which is 4 tenths of a mile. Also yesterday I did 6 tenths of a mile on the treadmill thus I can say that yesterday I walked a mile! It doesn’t sound like much, I know but I can only do what I can do and at this point, this is it. I will try for the other 6 tenths on the treadmill today,  but if I don’t get it done, well, I am not beating myself up over it.

This morning, I discussed plans with Fred about where the Christmas tree is going to go because right now the treadmill is occupying its corner! He said he didn’t really mind if we didn’t have a tree at all but I do. So, we are going to move the treadmill down some and leave the corner open. The dining room table will have to move over a bit but that is no problem since we don’t use it all that much . Fred’s filing cabinet will also have to be moved temporarily but he has no problem with that. AND, if everything fits in as I think it will, I can look at the Christmas tree as I walk on the treadmill. All this will be done after Thanksgiving, of course!

If my Dr. Who DVDs don’t come today and am going to sulk, stamp my feet and cry a lot!

Some of my women friends who live alone don’t bother with a Christmas tree anymore. I’ve toyed with the idea, just because decorating can be a lot of work, but I can’t bring myself to give it up. I love a Christmas tree!

I’m thinking about putting our tree up already. LOL I usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving but I just seem to want to put it up already. Plus, I know it is going to take me longer because of all my health issues. We have to do some moving around of things to though which is a huge chore in itself! Sounds like you’re doing great with your walking! Go you!!!! Hugs,M

I hope I always put up a Christmas tree, too! I love to look at our tree. :o) !! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay for walking a mile yesterday! And yaaay for taking a walk in the snow. We actually had a wee “snow shower” that lasted about five minutes yesterday, also! hugs, Weesprite

I love your new attitude. Not beating yourself up is good as you are already doing just the best you can. Go you.

After being in the house for the past five days, I walked about a mile today also – in fits and starts, but it all adds up. I do need to get out more!

I love Christmas.

Have you thought of ‘hanging’ the tree from the ceiling? might make moving the treadmill unnecessary. Just a thought. be well…dan I guess the have fun is redundant here hahahaha
