Waiting for Goodies

So, here it is Friday and, as happens every two weeks, I am waiting for the Schwan man to deliver frozen goodies!

After that, I will go out and buy some more art supplies for my class. Fred laughs at me because the first class isn’t until September some time {the 5th, I think} but I like to be prepared and if I get them early, I get to play with them, too. I already have newsprint, a sketch pad and a sketch book but there are things I don’t have. And she has a particular type of pastels on her list… So, I am going out after the Schwan Man delivers to price this stuff at a local art store. I have priced them on line and printed out my list with prices. If I can’t get what I need locally at a reasonable price, I have enough time to order on line. I am getting quite excited at the thought of this pastels class. I love having something to look forward to.

I have already been for a walk and it seems today is at least starting out as a high energy day. Yesterday I did walk twice but neither of them was at a good pace and I really had to force myself to do the second one. This morning I walked fast and enjoyed myself. I went up to the school and walked around their track and then home the long way.

Things to do before going out:

  • dishes
  • start on shredding this mass of papers on my desk. I don’t know why I don’t do this when they come in, but I don’t. These are bank statements for several months and most of them ahaven’t even been opened. No need to do that when I check my account on line almost every day! . I wish the local bank would stop sending me paper statements. American Express has this option and I like it. if I want a statement, I go on line and print it out!
  • take two bags of recycleable paper down to the bins

a random sidenote… my aunt used to have a set of pastels, and I used to sit on my grandmother’s front porch and try to draw the lake and all the beautiful country. I never had much luck, as I have NO artistic skill… but I always loved drawing with pastels. 🙂 I’m sure your efforts will be much better than mine.

it’s better to be early getting your supplies than not have what you need at the beginning of class. take care,

It’s always fun to play around with new art or craft supplies. Art seems like a great hobby! Enjoy the frozen goodies. They are a great thing to have with this hot summer.

I tend to leave stuff for shredding marthons till it all piles up. The other day I was doing stuff from 1997.

Sounds like you are having a grand day. I am hungry just thinking about your goodies. You are really encouraging us to walk, it does make you feel better.Just a little note. ANOTHER hurricane is on its way.. We are monitoring it closely. It’s projected path is someone the same as IVAN but it is early yet. Have a great day! I can not wait to see your art. You are one talented woman. LOVE YOU PAULA

I’m with you — start buying early just in case you can’t find something on the list… that way, you have plenty of time to get it.

Our bank has the option of online or mailed to you, I choose the online it’s just so much easier to balance it every week than once a month. My nephew is suppose to leave for england today. I guess he can’t fly into the airport he is suppose to. Not sure which one everything is a bit sketchy yet. Maybe he will get to stay home another week! That would be so nice.

Pretty good steppage on the pedometer! I read an interesting article a month ago in the Health section of the Los Angeles Times. It said the average Amish man stepped 15,000 steps a day, even in today’s society.
