Verizon Again!

On Tuesday morning, before I left for a walk, we had a connection to the Internet and a network. When I came back from the walk at 10:30, we had no connection.

Now, people who have been reading for a while know how much we LURVE Verizon. {Read sarcastically, please.} These are the same people who took over 40 days to move our DSL connection from the upstairs apartment to the downstairs apartment in the same building. These are the same people whose techs have strange hard-to-understand accents  and work from a script and if you listen carefully, you can hear them flipping the pages.

So, I am not going to tell you in detail all the trials I had to go through to get connected back up. We were told we would be sent a new modem with a router built in. Well, we got a modem, but it is exactly the same as the other one! At the moment, we have one computer working {mine} and no network. Either tomorrow or Friday, a local tech person is coming with a new router to redo our network at our expense. I have given up on getting technical help from Verizon. We actually have four computers: one desktop pc which I am using right now and three laptops, two of which ar pcs and the other is my little Macbook.

I set this modem up and working from a CD sent by Verizon, finally got on line again. I am honestly wondering if, when I turn this computer off tonight, if I will still be able to get back online tomorrow!

Incidentally, I am doing pretty well in walking for 10 to 15 minutes twice a day. I do not, because I can not, walk fast but I AM walking. I am not doing too well at practicing Italian, though. However, I will start back once this computer business is settled…

Sounds so frustrating dealing with them.

My parents left them completely.

It’s always something with computers. And printers. 🙁

I hate tech support people. Their immediate response to ANY problem is, “It must be your fault, lady…you need to change these settings that worked find this morning.” Bah!

Oh boy…. I remember this fiasco the last time and I hate thinking that they are going to do this again!

Sounds very maddening. I continually wonder when they’ll start figuring out that outsourcing does not always work.

That’s why I left Verizon and went with Road Runner from Time Warner Cable. 😉 Much more reliable! And faster too. . .

My sincerest sympathy, computers can be so useful and then so useless.

I wondered where you were all day! I’m sorry you’ve had ANOTHER Verizon hassle. I sure hope you have no problems tomorrow! hugs, Weesprite

We have never liked Verizon, not even for cell phone service. HOpe it all gets taken care of quickly for you. Hugs, M

Verizon does a pretty decent job with my cell phone service … must be two different divisions of the company.

Sounds like Verizon has gotten too big for it’s britches. When a company grows too fast the customer service is what suffers the most. I left V and went to Comcast because I got a better deal.

I took a really nice 15 minute walk the other day, after work. I loved being outside with the breeze. Too bad the humidty is about to hit next week and it will be in the 90s here!

I love to do those on-line surveys about cell phone and internet service. I historically have slammed Verizon. Customer service is dead.

RYN: Oh, I KNOW! When I had the MRI I thought I was going to go mad because I couldn’t pin down any one pattern through all that crazy noise! Whew. I feel totally normal now! 🙂 Be well,

ryn: I haven’t got an exact date yet, but I’ve been told it will be before the end of September. I was thinking of biking actually, maybe getting one for Christmas. I have some lovely countryside around me, so it should be more of a pleasure than a pain!

Computers can be annoying things!
