Various Things

It has been quite a while since I have written but that is because nothing much is happening. But I have to pat myself on the back because I really have been keeping up with walking on the tread mill. I have been doing 15 minutes twice a day which *I* think doesn’t have the same effect as 30 minutes all in one session. But, one does what one can do. I am just not able to do 30 minutes at once. The weather forecast says we will be getting up to 50 degrees today and if the sun keeps shining, I may try a walk in the real world today!

Izzy, the German shepherd upstairs is barking and howling. I don’t know how Fred can sleep through it. She barks for about 15 minutes every morning after our landlord leaves and she barks and howls at sirens which she hears but we don’t, and she barks when the mailman comes and she barks when anyone with a dog walks by… Actually, she really isn’t as bad as I make her sound. She, apparently sleeps a lot of the day.

The landlord finally answered my email about where should I put the trash {since the red container has disappeared.} He said he was getting a new trash removal person and to just put it in the containers out there by the storage hut. Hmmm, so far I have put two bags of recyclables and three BIG bags of trash and it doesn’t appear that anything has been moved. What really annoys me is that I feel that I can’t put out the papers because they will get soggy when they are rained on and they will blow all over the yard… Fred keeps telling me that it isn’t my problem, and, yes, he is right…

I am still enjoying reading on my Kindle 2. Fred decided he really wouldn’t use the Kindle 1 which freed it up to be offered to my younger son. I am slowly organizing it into a box to go to the post office…

"You are not happy because you are well. You are well because you are

happy. You are not depressed because trouble has come to you, but

trouble has come to you because you are depressed. You can change

your thoughts and feelings, and then the outer things will come to

correspond, and indeed there is no other way of working."

How can anybody have a German shepherd as an “indoor dog” in a small apartment when they’re not there? That’s just … wrong. I liked your old landlord better.

March 26, 2009

Well, 15 minute 2x a day is up from when you started no? So it’s progress! 🙂 I need a nice, leisurely outside walk. I wish I had my dog here to accompany me! *HUGS*

Barking dogs are so annoying when they bark all the time.

I’d just look for a small brick or medium-size rock to put on top of the newspapers and set them there. It is the landlord’s responsibility to take care of this, so I would not let it become your worry.

Wow how nice a kindle for your son. I am sure he will enjoy it. I have heard when the were on Oprah that you can download newspapers on them?

Thanks again for the kindle shopping tips. I just got my decal (Van Gogh’s Irises), and now my kindle is all dressed up. And last night I gave in to my desires and ordered a cover from Oberon Design. Oh, well — it’s only money.

I’ve always wondered why dogs don’t get hoarse and lose their “voices” after barking and barking and barking… You’d think they would… Loves to you! ~M

Hi gal! Actually 2 15’s is better than 1 30 in that it revs up your metabolism a bit more. Like going up a hill twice a day instead of once. Your body appreciates you more. Like you teaching English 2 times a week instead of once. They will remember more. And you are just teaching your body and doing a wonderful job!!!Be well and have fun….dan

RYN: I’m hoping it’s easy. I figure if I can’t make this pattern there’s a problem. Should I pin the pattern to the fabric and then cut or cut the pieces out, pin them and then cut?

Thanks for the B-day wishes and yard compliments. I do hope you get an early spring after the miserable winter you have gone through. I love your new Emmet Fox quote. Very true words….

Good for you on the treadmill. Good weather’s coming!

That’s miserable about the dog barking. My neighbor does it too, I mean the dog (a beagle) that they have howls incessantly. And it’s loud.

ryn: a Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor. The client is clothed in comfortable, loose-fitting or flexible clothing (like yoga pants). The massage includes compressions, stretches, and a kind of rocking motion that’s both invigorating and relaxing. It takes longer than a regular massage, as well.

15 minutes may not have the same effect as 30, but it has a much better effect than 0. take care,

we have neighbors that leave their dogs outside during the day and you hear them howling and stuff. We haven’t enjoyed our deck in the 10 years we’ve had it but twice I think. Very annoying.

They say that several 10-15 minute sessions here and there will have a cumulative effect throughout the day, or that’s what I’ve heard! Aren’t you excited for spring! It’s begun warming up where I am, too! It’s great to finally get OUTSIDE again!
