UpdateEDIT 4 furniture

  • Just got a phone call that the furniture will be delivered between 8 and 10 TOMORROW!

  • Jake actually felt hungry last night and he went out and got pizza. I enjoyed some of it last night and I was pleased to see he ate some more for breakfast this morning. He is resting a lot and dozes off in his chair. The cats, of course, love it. He doesn’t feel well enough yet to do anything at my apartment but that is no problem since we have lots of time and we don’t, as yet, know when the furniture will arrive.
  • We are sort-of rewatching "The Wrath of Khan." Jake’s washer and drier are working on my laundry. You might wonder why I have dirty laundry having been here for such a short period. Well, I stripped the bed I slept in in Vermont and brought the sheets with me!
  • Diane called me and she and Ernie took the old bed and 13-year-old mattress to the dump.
  • The temperature where I used to live in VT is going down to 0 degrees tonight and it is snowing. Although I love Vermont, I am glad to be out of that!
  • I still have a few aches and pains from the getting-ready-to-move week and the discomfort of the planes, but it is a lot better than it was yesterday.
  • It can only get better…

Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

– Oscar Wilde

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}

13 year old mattress?! Yes, it was time for a new one, even if you were not moving! lol I hope Jake feels better soon. It sucks being sick, especially when there is stuff you want to do!

Gosh, I expect mattresses to last forever. I guess they don’t. Thinking about it, mine is probably around 8 years old. I still think of it as new. LOL Glad your son is better.

I bet the cats love it! They’ve got a captive human to camp out on.

I hope you are happy and like NC once you settle into your new home. I know you saw Diane often but I think being close to both your sons and grandchildren will be good for you. Even though your stuff will be delivered tomorrow it can sit there a few days till Jake feels better

Well, dang, another moving day already! I was hoping you’d get an extra free day of R&R!

I’m visiting my old stomping grounds in NH today. . .I walked into the local kitchen store, saw some Marmite on the shelves, and thought of you!

Glad to hear the furniture is close to being delivered. Take your time getting settled since you havea place to stay. Less stressful that way.

Glad Jake is at least feeling well enough to eat. I’m just barely getting there myself. Trying to eat but still getting nauseous when I do. I’m pretty sure mine is my crohns though. Glad too that your soreness is letting up some. I’m sure all of this has been hard work for you to say the least. Hugs,M

Sounds like Jake better get well real quick so he can do what he needs to do at the new apartment. You’ll take longer to get settled that it took you to get ready to move. Just take it EASY and take your time. You aren’t going anywhere now, except to that new apartment.
