Update for Me & Mostly Medical

  • I STILL have no groceries to go in the lovely clean refrigerator.
  • There are not enough hours in the day. Our local grocery store opens at 6 am and I am seriously thinking about going tomorrow. Well, maybe not at that hour, but earlier than I usually go. I usually go to see Fred around lunch time and then his daughter comes in the late afternoon.
  • I went to see the doctor for a follow-up this morning. I am off Lisinopril since the side effect of coughing so much for me is very stressful. I don’t just have a little, polite cough. Today in the doctor’s office I was coughing so much I was crying and having difficulty breathing. I have another blood pressure medicine to try which, so says the doctor, has fewer side effects. The Lisinopril was doing very little for the blood pressure, too.
  • I am pretty sure it will also help the BP if I made a real effort to walk more and eat a little less. I am going to try for a loss of 10 pounds…
  • Oh, and I have a urologist of my very own! I have been thinking about getting hooked up with one since I have only one kidney, and the one I have the appointment with on November 26th is the one that Fred has been going to. He is very nice and we both like him so I am pleased about that.
  • In addition, I have also agreed to go for some pulmonary tests since having the coughing attack in the doctor’s office totally panicked me.
  • And finally, I have an appointment for an electrocardiogram  early in December. Hmmm, there is a colonoscopy to be scheduled somewhere in there, too!

Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.

What is this? National Poke and Prod Patricia Month? Yikes! What a lot of tests! 🙂

I hope you can get rid of that coughing…it is so hard on your body. And getting a urologist sounds like a very sensible thing to do…

If it made you cry, that is a very serious cough. So sorry, Patricia.

According to my cardiologist “There are hundreds of BP meds. Never take one that messes you up. The idea of a med is to make you feel better. “

I was on the damn lisinopril. It was horrible. My doc put me on losartan instead. It does not cause caughing.

I have to clean out my fridge this weekend in preparation for next week. And the leftovers!

Oh yeah I forgot about that horrible cough with Lisinopril. I HATED THAT! I would cough so much sometimes I would puke. Horrible stuff!

I am so glad you are off the lisinopril! I coughed so much while taking it that I had to start wearing Depends! :oO !! Now I take Mycardis and it doesn’t make me cough. Sometimes when life gets really busy, it would be nice if the grocery stores would just deliver food to us! hugs, Nicky

I hope you are feeling well soon. That coughing stuff seems to be going around. Sure I hope I don’t end up with it. I had it last year and was not happy about it at all. Just wears you out. Say hi to Fred from all of us. Hope he is feeling better every day.

i take lisinopril and do get a cough, but it is more like an itch in my throat. I was doing really well until the spring and now i’m not sure how well it is working. I need to go back, but i’ve also put on the 15 lbs i’d lost back in the spring so i’m hoping to lose them before i need to go back to the dr. and hopefully i can get off BP meds.
