Trivial Things

Yesterday I had the massage that had been postponed for two weeks. {The first time, Beth had a bad cold and the second time, she was in the hospital!} All I can say is that it was absolute bliss!

I am considering doing something different with my hair. At the moment, it looks more-or-less like the picture except that I have more silver in it than the picture. I am not complaining. Actually I love the silver and will be very happy when or if it all becomes that color. I am toying mentally with having it colored but if I did, I would want it to be a silver-blond but eventually there would be the dark roots! For many years, I colored my hair red and most people thought it was that color naturally. I have a redhead’s skin {and freckles} but, unfortunately didn’t get the haircolor. My mother had green eyes, freckles and dark red hair. My younger son has green eyes and although his hair is dark, his beard is red. Anyway, to go back to MY hair, I am going to let it grow a bit and then consider a new style. {I say this now as I have said it before, but I reserve the right to have it all chopped off if it irritates me too much! }

The temperature outside is cloudy and 50 degrees. In the house the thermostate reads 63 for the temperature in the hall. I am dressed in layers but I am still chilly so a moment ago I turned the heat on. I set the house temperature  at 66 so I should be feeling some warm air soon!

Another change of subject. I have just run across a very useful keyboard shortcut for my Mac. Almost immediatelt after going to Mac from Winows, I found I could scroll down a document by using the space bar. A day or so ago, I discovered that shift/spacebar allows me to scroll UP the document! {Little things make me happy!}

Yikes! 66 is downright FRIGID! I would freeze to death. I’m not happy unless it’s at least 74. ryn: I wish more people had your addiction!!! 🙂

That’s the problem with growing our hair…. for me, it eventually starts irritating us. I do like mine to be around shoulder length but recently when I let it grow considerably longer than that, I loved the way it looked at times, but boy did it get on my nerves. As soon as I got home from work I’d put it in a ponytail to get it out of the way. I say grow it as long as you can tolerate it becausethe longer it is, the more options you have for a new style that will require cutting it!

P.S. thanks for the encouraging words about hip surgery, I’m grateful to hear all the positive things about it that I can get!

I can’t wait until I start getting grey hairs, then I can stop dying my hair blond. lol Although I don’t want my hair to go grey JUST yet. So I guess I CAN wait… haha.

Left to my own devices, I’d leave my hair gray….but it’s only silvery on top and on the sides. The back turned this dark sort of ugly brownish color. I was a natural redhead….and like it that way as well, but hate being married to a bottle of color every few weeks. But as much as I don’t like doing the retouch, I have to admit it does make me look considerably younger… Love to you! ~M

That spacebar/shift spacebar scrolling thing works on Windows PCs, too.

It was right around 50 here when I got up this morning. I’m LOVING it!!!!! Now if we only had the fall foliage like Vermont gets! My hair is a natural dark red too.It used to be much lighter when I was growing up but it seems the older I get the darker it gets. I am actually getting strands of black in my brush occasionally. Now that would be strange for me, to go from red to black? LOL Soglad you were able to get your massage in this time! Hugs,M

Anything under 70 is freezing for me, which doesn’t do me any good, especially since I live i Illinois and it’s super cold in the winter.

that’s the problem with coloured hair – dark roots! I dyed my hair red one time, but it didn’t work well for me because I don’t have the proper skin or eye colour for it.

I am ready to turn on the heat too. It’s 48 degrees outside with a breeze and drizzle. It’s supposed to get to 50 for a low tonight. I guess it will have to warm up. The inside temp is 69 downstairs and 67 upstairs. I am thinking about turning on the heat, but just can’t bear to do it just yet. Hope it warms up soon.

A lot of the women I know have their white or gray hair very long. They look so good that way but I haven’t the patience for having looong hair unless it’s tied back all the time….which kinda defeats the purpose! Our weather’s cool too, though not quite as cool as you are having….but I’m lovin’ it! :o) !! hugs, Weesprite

I am with you – colored my hair somewhere between auburn and chestnut – it looked great – when I had the time to have it done. Then, when I left it alone, I realized I love where the silver it. Maybe purple again, but not while I am working for the district attorney’s office…

My hair has been turning silver at a steady rate since I was in my twenties. After I had my sessions of chemo and radiation, and I went bald, I was just happy to have hair again, no matter what the colour.

We’re finally able to turn off our AC and have windows cracked – we can’t open them too much for fear of the cats escaping again! I’ve been looking so very forward to Fall!

We have a MAC at work and now that Peg is no longer there I’ve fallen into the “computer person” shoes. It’s taking me some time to get used to but I’ll get there 😉

We’re finally getting cooler weather here as well. I had to wear a fleece jacket this morning! I’m with you on the hair issue as well; I’m trying to hold off on cutting it because I want it a bit longer, but I don’t know if I can wait!
