Today’s Stuff
Today I gave the kitchen a good cleaning. Hmmm, I must have done more than that all day! Oh, I know, I had a nap too! AND I put a 4 GB SD card in my Kindle– more storage for more books!
I have been checking for a couple of days and this morning the charge for the repair of my car appeared on my American Express account online. I had the money from the insurance company already in my checking account and so I paid it all off immediately. {Back in the days when I was a single parent with a mortgage, I would let my credit card debt increase but these days I pay it off completely each month.} The main reason I use this card is that I get "points" which I use for gift cards to Lands End. I love their clothes but hate their prices!
What I am reading:
- I have finished Travels with a Donkey by R. L Stevenson. There were parts where I grit my teeth and slogged on— hmm, now I think of it rather like Modestine, the donkey. This definitely was a book I wouln’t have even glanced at if it wasn’t for the book club.
- I am rereading Ishmael, a Star Trek book by Barbara Hambly. I am rereading this slowly and in bits because I am enjoying it again. I also downloaded samples consisting of a couple of chapters of her two other Star Trek books: Ghost-Walker and Crossroads. Samples cost nothing {But I will probably buy them! }
- I am also reading The Concrete Blond by Michael Connelly
- The other book I am reading is The Know-it-All by A. J. Jacobs. This is the amusing and interesting account of how he read all the way through the Encyclopaedia Brittanica.
QUOTATIONS:
"Step by step. I can’t think of any other way of accomplishing anything."
Michael Jordan
None will improve your lot If you yourself do not.

ryn – i’m defintly going to do that, i forgot to mention it. i’m getting on it ASAP, it will be a hassle to get deposits and such changed but it’s better then what’s going on. she’s been doing it for at least 2 years. probably longer. pretty awful!

We read know-it-all for reading circle. It was fun, and didn’t turn out at all like he thought it would.

The Jacobs books sounds like a must-read. I’ll put it on hold if I can.
