Today’s Plans

Italian Phrase of the Day: {These come from An Italian Phrase a Day desk calendar}: Abbia un viaggio meraviglioso. Have a wonderful trip.

My comment on this: Mille grazie! Leggerò molti libri e andò a vedere le vitrine. Thanks! I will read many books and go window-shopping.

Last night I had difficulty going to sleep. I can’t pin down why. There just seemed to be too much "stuff’ roiling around in my mind. So, finally, I got up and took half a Klonopin. I take it so seldom that half a pill works very well for me. As a result of this, I didn’t get up until 9 am which is VERY late for me. I can’t do this tomorrow because I have to be ready to go somewhere between 8 and 8:30 when Leslie meets me to walk!

Anyway, once I got up, as usual I felt fine. I made the coffee and when I poured my cup, I found the milk had gone bad! So, poured a fresh cup,  drank it black and put on another pot for Fred. I could, I suppose, have used his light cream but I thought I would try it black. it was quite nice. I have actually started drinking my Earl Grey afternoon tea with no milk. {I can feel my Irish ancesters raising a disapproving eyebrow—"First she drinks it WEAK and now she doesn’t put milk in it? What kind of half-Irish woman is this?" }

When I got up this morning at 9 am, the snow was not only coming down heavily but there was a gusty wind whirling it around. Now, the sun is shining and the snow is melting. I will go out for a walk later. But now I must embark on my jobs for today:

  • Italian
  • dust-mop the floors {It IS time to do it when you can see the dust on the wooden floors, right?  }
  • clean the kitchen
  • fix the kitchen-isle’s shelves. {The stupid pins fall out and dump everything from the top shelf onto the bottom shelf and it will all have to come out before I can fix it which means I will probably have to get down on the floor ro do this…}
  • walk

QUOTATION FOR THIS MONTH: If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment. — Marcus Aurelius

Until later….

It is very windy here today! No snow….but it IS cold enough!! Here’s wishing you a lovely day. hugs, Weesprite

I stopped taking my klonopin. I miss it because it lightened my thoughts but I think maybe it worked a little too well. LOL!

Hey, when we see the dust on our floors, we think its a good thing because enough dust protects the finish. Hee Hee (Just kidding).

I read an article yesterday that said tea is great for you but when you add milk it is not as good for you. Wish I could have remembered where I read it. Still no snow here in Wi. I bet we get dumped on in March like we always do. Enjoy your day.

my irish ancestors would really be dissappointed with me, I don’t like tea at all. 🙂

i hate that wind!!! it’s only in the mid 30’s right now but that wind is biting and makes it seem so much colder. bright sunshine but the sun isn’t warm today. take care,

I love Earl Grey, but I brew it strongly. I love Irish Breakfast tea, brewed thick and dark with loads of milk and sugar, too.

It doesn’t take too much for the floors to get dusty.. mine show it in less than a day! (although, I do not clean them once a day.. I’d drive myself insane if I did that.. I used to when my kids were babies.. but they played on the floor, so it made sense)

You put me to shame woman with all you accomplish daily. Bravo & keep up the good work. I am a terrible insomniac. Actually I sleep better now than I did as a kid, but I still only probably average 4 to 5 hours a night.

I usually take Benadryl each night before bed for my allergies (the Zyrtec I take in the morning is supposed to be a 24-hour dose but stops working at about 12, and my doctor said it’s fine to take Benadryl at night). Benadryl makes you drowsy so I suppose it helps me sleep too. I’ve noticed when I don’t take it early enough, I have more trouble getting to sleep. I’ve heard of Klonopin. I hopeyou sleep better tonight.

Mm I love tea. Hot and cold!

Reading your statement about the floors, I thought you’d appreciate this quote: All loss is gain. Since I have become so near-sighted I see no dust or squalor, and therefore conceive of myself as living in splendor. ~ Alice James

RYN: I suppose we have to see if Fred will accept the nomination first! I’m ignoring my floors until the weekend.

Darn dust! It’s the bane of my existance – well, one of them. Brrrr, it’s getting cold for walks. You’re a brave woman.
