Today

Today I have:

  1. Made a loaf of white bread, a loaf of brown bread and a pan of gingerbread.
  2. Washed all the dishes associated with all this cooking.
  3. Looked for the missing disks but not found them. I am baffled! *
  4. Gone for two walks so that means 3 miles today.
  5. Pretty well caught up with reading all my favorites but have not noted everyone.
  6. Played a fair amount of Bookworm.
  7. Watched “Stargate: SG1” and “Stargate: Atlantis.”
  8. Ordered a couple of bread machine recipe books from Amazon.
  9. Made a gigantic salad.

I am really getting interested in all the different kinds of bread I can make in this machine. So far I have tried white but cooked on the French bread cycle so the crust is very crisp. The other one that is very popular in this house is brown bread made with 1/8 of a cup of molasses. The recipe calls for more but we don’t really like a very  strong taste of molasses so I have gradually lowered the amount until today we decided this amount was the best. Another recipe I have tried is a hearty nut bread made with molasses and chopped walnuts which Fred likes but is too sweet for me.

Our landlords have gone off to Boston for the long weekend and almost the last thing Melanie said was to tell me to feel free to use the washer and dryer while they were gone so that is what I will do tomorrow, I think.

Goodness, I lead such an exciting life!

Until later…

*Apart from the inconvenience of not being able to install the Dazzle card reader on the desk computer, I honestly cannot think where I put those three disks! I had a suitcase and a duffle bag and a small carry-on. I have emptied all three of them. I have a distinct memory of putting the disks somewhere so I am fairly sure I didn’t leave them at my son’s house…

Ya know, my favorite “excitement” is that from just staying home puttering around here. I think that comes from age and also from having a home where one’s contented. 🙂 I sure hope you find the disks. Probably you will find them where you least expected them to be, and when you’re not even looking! hugs, Weesprite

I do an Italian loaf in my breadmaker….with tons of garlic, parmesan cheese, oregano, and a little thyme…. It’s like pizza in the form of bread! I’ve also made pretzel dough, and formed and baked them in the oven. I’ll be interested in what you think of the recipe book….. Love ya! ~M

All of your talk of bread makes me insanely hungry. I love bread. If I could live on it alone I certainly would. Don’t you hate it when you KNOW you put something somewhere and then you have no idea where! Baffling. Good luck finding your disks

Don’t you hate remembering you put something *somewhere* but not remembering *where*?
