Time for Coffee
Well, I started to write yesterday but gave up in disgust because I had nothing to say. But this morning I thought, "When has that ever stopped me?" So here I am with more of the same-ole same old.
It feels to me as if I spent a large part of yesterday struggling with the community college’s web site. You would think they didn’t WANT my money. Anyway, I am going to try again today….
Yesterday I DID manage to go for a long walk –well, stroll really because of my hip–down to the new Riverwalk. This is, as the name suggests, a boarded walk along the Winooski river. It is quite short and ends at some steps which lead down into a much more rural-type walk. I didn’t go down into the woods because I wasn’t wearing insect repellent and, as I have mentioned a couple of times, I am a mosquito trap. The only good thing about this is that this year, I seem to be reacting like everyone else—that is a little itchy bump. A couple of years ago, apparently I had an acute sensitivity to mosquites since the part bitten swelled up horrendously. Now I just curse and scratch! Today I am going to go down to the Riverwalk again, wear repellent, and brave the woods. I also took my Cute Canon Camera with me so I got a couple of shots before the battery died. I will put pictures of this area on my next entry.
Last night we went out to eat again and this time it was to Boves, an Italian restaurant in Burlington. Fred had spaghetti but I had their sea-food roll which was delicious. It came with a HUGE plate of French fries. I ate about a third of them. After that, we went down to the waterfront and enjoyed the breeze and the sunshine. Again, I had no repellent on so I was a bit nervous but, apparently the breeze kept the mosquitoes away because I wasn’t bitten. We didn’t stay to see the sun go down as we usually do because it didn’t look as if it would be a good dramatic sunset because there were no clouds…
Ok, time to go on with my day…

Good luck with the college web site. I stay inside most of the time because of the bugs but there doesn’t seem to be too many around here.

The first semester of trying to sign up for classes online drove Mark around the bend. He gave up finally and did it in person. Second semester he did it, but nerves were frayed. Good luck! Thanks for the note! Hello there back atcha!

Good luck with that!

Lady Wife asked me to pass along the suggestion that you call your local Avon rep and order some of their Expidition insect repellent. The state wildlife officers have to work in some mosquito infested swamp areas, and they say this stuff is nothing short of a miracle. Plus it’s DEET free and doesn’t smell bad.

You might want to check the college website to see if you can sign up for classes….(ducks & runs!) 😉 HEEHee! I feel your pain about the mosquito bites; Boo reacts as you describe, with an awful sensitivity. HUGE welts. 🙁 Poor thing!

I remember Bove’s fondly. Their sauces are just one of the things I miss about VT.
