This is Where a Title Should Go

Last night was the first night I slept all the way through the night for a long time. I AM, as many of you suggested, cutting out the naps. Unfortunately this means I can’t lie on the bed where many an unexpected nap has caught me! I lie on the bed propped up with three pillows because I can stretch out there and watch television. But I have decided I will take down the nest of pillows and put them away and see if that helps me not to choose the bed. Of course, I DO have a bed lounger but that normally has to be gotten from its storage place beneath the tv table and set up. It is not seductively there all the time like the pillow nest!

Anyway, I slept all night and woke up at 8:20 am. My first thought was that I would be late for physical therapy which, I thought was at 8:30. Now, I have no idea where that came from since {a} I don’t have pt today, and {b} it is at 10 am tomorrow! So, I got up and got my banana, toast and coffee and threw a load of clothes in the red mesh bag down the basement steps, followed them more sedately and put a load of permanent-press clothes in the machine. I brought the red mesh bag upstairs with me  few minutes ago, I put last week’s dirty sheets in it to go into the machine when I go down to move the clothes from the washer to the drier. Although there is some pain in my hip—and it feels like muscle pain–I think I will be able to do two loads today which is a step on the way to getting back to normality. {Normality is three loads– whites, perma-press, and sheets and towels– in one day once a week}

Plans for the day {Note, these will not necessarily get past the planning stage! }

  • Finish [wash, dry, and put away} two loads of laundry–this one is well on its way to completion
  • Take a half-mile walk which I will probably do next before I run out of energy This will also depend on the temperature and the humidity}
  • do pt at-home exercises {I can do most these on the bed while watching Judging Amy from 1 pm to 2 pm}
  • Drive down to the library and get a couple of new books
  • read in my reclining chair in the living room rather than on the bed thus avoiding the urge to nap.

A good night’s sleep is a wonderful thing! :o) !! hugs, Weesprite

Yes! Your plan for getting a good night’s sleep worked. I try to avoid unexpected naps just because of the sleeping-all-night thing. They catch up to me, though…usually in church! LOL!

that’s wonderful that you got a nights worth of sleep. I always wake up disoriented when I do that because its unusual for me too.

I love my night time sleep – but I also love a good nap. Don’t overdo things!!

My mother always said one sleep brings another. I don’t worry about sleeping through the night. I often take a nap right before supper. Some night I have coffee. I sometimes sleep through and other times I don’t. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason whether I sleep through or not.

Glad you got a good nights rest!! Since you’re in the laundry mood, can I send you some of mine to do? LOL Hugs, M

I’ve always found that if I must remain asleep for an uninterrupted period, muscle relaxants and scotch do the trick for me!

Wonderful that you slept through the night.

I am the king of all nappers. I can nap for a few minutes,for several, for 1/2 hr, for and hr, or 1/2 day, I can do a nap and then go to bed and sleep thru until morning. Please don’t wreck that by teaching me how not to. It really it the only thing I have learned to be good at. I would hate to have to learn something new now. have fun…dan BTW you are doing terrific!!!

A good nights sleep is God’s reward for a full day.

I love a good night’s sleep! I’m glad you were able to have one. I’m sure your body is glad, too! (((Hugs)))

I don’t know… I … can sleep in a recliner with no trouble at all!!!!!! If you need sleep, you need sleep. It’s how your body heals. Though, maybe a nap in the recliner will be just uncomfortable enough that it won’t last long… Love ya! ~M

*huggs* and I woke up at 3:18 am from a nightmare of a female ventriliquist doll trying to eat me!!!!

That’s great! It is hard when you are in recovery to get back to a normal sleeping pattern. You are doing so well with your work load, too.

ryn: well… we had to volunteer to run a club every Wednesday and so I volunteered to do Italian for beginners. I’m going to be honest with the kids – we are all very much learning and we will have to teach each other. I think they’ll enjoy teaching me. 🙂 But… it depends how many registered to do it. If not enough I’ll have to join an over subscribed teacher. I’d like a small group – we can have panettone and biscotti. We can even take over one of the kitchens to make them ourselves. 🙂 Oh I do hope so!

I haven’t forgotten about the painting, but events have overtaken me. I WILL try my best to sort it out this coming week. Honest.

And thank you for your patience and support. If there were more like you in the world, then there’d be a lot less problems.

those sneaky naps! LOL!

ryn: refferals are products we let the customer know about when they call in. If they are interested in the product, than we get to count that as a refferal. We are expected to get refferals on about 19% of the calls we take. And at a minimum of 16%. Does that help explain it?

I’ve had many instances of waking up at 2:00a.m., lying awake for an hour or more, then getting up to read or be at the computer till 5:00a.m., when exhausted, I’d go back to bed and do fall asleep till 9:30a.m. sometimes. I don’t know what causes this night-time wakefulness, but it is annoying when it happens because it shortens my day considerably.

RYN. I wasn’t sure about the pronunciation as we say Guy as in Guy Fawkes the same as the gee in good!
