This Is an Entry of Sorts

Italian Phrase of the Day: Quale sono le sue rizoluzioni del nuovo anno?

It means "What are your New Year’s resolutions?"

Non ha le mi rizoluzioni. Ma invece,  ha le mi mete!
 { I have no resolutions. But instead, I have goals.!}
I have had a somewhat frustrating morning. First, I have had to accept the fact that my IPod battery will have to be replaced. It seems to charge up but lasts a whole 15 minutes if I am lucky So, I take it down to the place where I bought it and they will send it away (for $30} but, no, they can’t tell me what it will cost over and above that. So, I take it back and say no thank you. We have a MAC place near the bookstore and I will call them up today and get prices from them. If I had remembered where they were I would have gone over this morning while I was out but I had to come home and Fred told me where they were. Actually, this is rather funny because apparently, *I* had pointed them out to him the last time we were at Barnes and Nobles!

While I was out, I bought a set of cutlery for four people. We are supposed to have enough for six but a few days ago, when we actually did have six people eating here, we found we had enough for five. Apparently a knife and fork has disappeared somewhere in the move! Anyway, we now have enough for nine people! it is highly unlikely we will ever have nine people to eat, but just in case…

I also go what I hope are appropriate cords to connect the DVD player to the television. Apparently the original ones were also lost/mislaid in the move. I really wanted shorter ones but they were out of 3 ft lengths so if I wanted to get them today {and I did} I had to get 6 ft ones. Well, I will tackle this tomorrow…

I have been for a walk already but it was cut short because the IPod died on me . It is amazing how much difference this makes. The minute I have no music, I turn home…

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment. — Marcus Aurelius

My mp3 player is having issues and I am thinking of switching to an IPod. I can’t walk without my music either.

I really like the Marcus Aurelius quote. I may use it in a entry in the future. I hope your day gets better & that a new battery is easily & readily available at the other store for much less than $30.00. I will be walking in the fresh snow this afternoon, during breaks from taking Christmas decorations down. Hey when I saw all your enties gone today I was so thankful I took the time theother day to look through all your photos & entries. I really enjoyed your photos & entries about your classes. So lucky me for reading You!

My father got a non-Ipod MP3 player for Christmas. He had trouble with it. So he exchanged it for an Ipod and decided he was happy with that. 🙂 I’m sorry though that yours is having issues. I hope you can find what you need with minimal hassle. *hugs*

Have you thought about dealing directly with Apple?

I love that quote! It is good to call them “goals” instead of resolutions. Goals are meant to be met, whereas resolutions tend to be broken too easily. Good luck in your hunt for a cheaper battery!

I can’t drive without music either. Maybe it’s psychological, but it makes me crazy!!!!! Hope they fix it quickly! Love to you! ~M

I have wanted an ipod for a while now, but I have heard some horror stories about the battery ordeal and I’ve been reluctant to go and get one.

good luck with getting the battery replaced and the cords connected. having really long cords is kind of annoying, but we have ours tied with wire ties; that seems to help. =)

My mp3 player has a removeable battery. Much easier when it every dies. Hope you get yours fixed in short order. I’d hate being without mine when I need it!

Hmmm…Briana’s IPOD had issues today, too. I fixed her’s though…thank God.!

I should get new cutlery, because ours gets lost somehow. We “had” enough for twelve, and now are lucky to have enough for six. I hope your IPOD can be fixed soon! hugs, Weesprite

I love that end quote!!! Very true…

music really makes a difference on my walks as well. my husband replaced his ipod battery, though admittedly he is a bit of a gearhead. there are places online that sell kits and detailed/illustrated instructions. not sure how much it was. maybe $75 total? good luck! i also appreciate you posting the marcus aurelius quote. recently, i have had a lot of my mind and need to remember this.

*huggs* my son’s IPOD had similar issues, we had to replace the whole thing, they would not replace just the battery. I hope you have better luck!

Those IPods can be quite bothersome it seems.
