This and That

I was up at 3 am again this morning. This is becoming a habit I will be glad to learn to break. I went back at 6 am and slept for a couple of hours, though.

I  and my walker took a bag of trash out to the trash place in the yard and then went for a walk to the corner.  It would have been better if I had put on some insect repellent because, as usual, every biting bug in Vermont passed on the nessage that I was available! Anyway, after the application of some anti-itch cream, I do feel better.

Yesterday, I got a phone call that my coumadin  level had jumped up to 2.9 and to immediately cut the 2.5 mg pills in half. This morning I got another phone call to say that was a mistake.  That my levels were actually 1.6 and to go back to the full 2.5 dosage! Hmmm, it sort of makes one wonder who is reading the test results, doesn’t it!

Today is three weeks after the surgery. Next Tuesday, I have my first appointment with the surgeon since the surgery. I also go a survey in the mail from the hospital. I am contemplating letting them know I feel I was sent home too early and with not enough information…

Oh,  and thanks to my wonderful neighbor, I have a cane. She went to our recycle place and came back with this metal adjustable one which cost $1! I don’t have enough strength in my left leg to give up the walker for the cane as yet, but the time is coming!

Hopefully by you being honest on the surveys you will help others that will be having the surgery.

Nice neighbour to think of you!

It was nice of the neighbor to help out like that. I think that you should fill out the survey because that way they know how you feel about things and that it will help the next person that has the same experience as you. Take care and God Bless

Those follow up surveys are very important, so tell the truth. Your honesty may help future patients more than you know. I’m glad that you’re getting around so well now. Cheers!

That’s a cool neighbor to think of you! Hope you decorate it up with a big red bow on the first day you get to use it.

gotta be honest on those surveys!!! it’ll help the next patient. maybe you should call the doctor’s office tomorrow to see if they’ve changed their minds on your level again! that’s a mistake i wouldn’t be very happy about. good for you for walking a bit. every bit helps in the long run. take care,

🙂 great news on the cane. You sound like you are doing fantastic things already – taking the trash out indeed! Glad to hear it and hear you sound chirpy.

My grandmother always said the first reason to have a cane for was to keep everyone in line. The next was to help you get back up and the third was to keep you from falling too hard. Enjoy it when you get off the walker! have fun…dan

Say – can’t beat the $1 cane! You’ll be ready for it before you know it. It sounds like you have the problem Vince does – insects just beeline for him, no matter where we are! He insists it’s because he’s just too sweet, clearly, you have the same dilemma. 😀

I hope you soon manage to sleep better at nights. Insomnia is horrible.
