Thinking

I just called Fred and told him I wasn’t coming to see him today but instead I am staying home and getting the damned laundry caught up. The problem is that before Fred was whipped off to hospital a few weeks ago, I was right in the middle of the annual change-over. This means that I was washing the summer shirts before putting them away and getting the winter sweats and sweaters out of the storage boxes. Then everything changed and I stopped thinking about laundry. Next, Fred was moved to the rehab place and I had to be sure that I had enough summer shirts available. {They keep the place very warm.} I was just going back to organizing of the laundry and the clean clothes when *I* went into hospital! I checked his clothes drawer when I visited him yesterday and took home a bag full of underwear to wash. {Actually, I almost didn’t take the bag home. I put it on the floor by the chair where I was sitting and then forgot it. But fortunately, Fred’s daughter who was also visiting him at the same time, saw it, ran after me and caught me just as I was getting into the elevator! }

I was sitting here {waiting for Clever Laundry Machines to get done} when I found myself appreciating how well I was feeling. I am wearing a becoming dark-purple, high-necked, long-sleeved top and some jeans. I am warm, even though the heat is set low because I am also wearing a dark-green, heavy-duty fleece jacket {with "Even Zombies Need Love" on the back} and some thick winter socks. My stomach is full, but not too full, and my bowels are behaving! All I need to be really productive is some music. {short pause to click on ITunes… OOO! An a cappella version of "Lean on Me!" Very nice!} Anyway, there is nothing like a period of not feeling well to appreciate the times when I AM fee   ling well!  {ITunes has   just changed to "Waiting for the Miracle" by The Fantastic Leonard Cohen.}

Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.

So glad you are feeling better. Good health should never be taken for granted.

Just curious about your kindle. Do you get books from the library as well? I know some libraries offer that. I am trying to encourage my mother- a career librarian that sees no sense in buying books. I’m glad the situation with Fred is stable.

Glad to hear your feeling better. I just LOVE accapella music! Do you ever watch The Sing Off on Monday nights? My favorite group got sent home a few weeks ago, but I’m still watching as they are all clearly very talented in this. Hugs to Fred. And, hugs to you as well,M

Good you’re feeling well.

“Damned laundry” is exactly what I think of it, too! With Joe having my kitchen torn apart, I have still got a humungous mountain of laundry to do, and I have to stand on a heap of my kitchen throw-rugs, that he threw into the laundry room to get them out of his way. Everywhere I go, I have to step over or stand on things! And here I am, telling you all this! You are the lucky one. ;o) !! I’mso glad you are feeling well today. That is always a great thing. :o) !! hugs, Nicky

you deserve a day at home but its a pity you have to be busy with laundry instead of relaxing a bit. I have no doubt Fred understands. hugs P

He is so much the fantastic Leonard Cohen. I so love the Live in London collection. If he tours in 2012, I am so going to gonthere, even if it’s Budapest or whatever. I hope things settle down for you and Fred soon!

I read library books on Kindle–just wish the selection were better. But worth a try!
