The Weekend

Well, I haven’t written because there is not much going on. I haven’t started running around and screaming, "I’ve got to PACK!" yet. That will start the week before I leave! I have got the suitcase up from the basement and into the bedroom, though.

Fred bought me a lovely gift today, though. It was on the chair in my workroom when I came back from a massage. It is a set of CDs for learning Italian. He was up at Costco, saw it, and bought it for me. It is really nice with all 25 CDs packed into a little traveling case which has a place for the CD player as well. Now all I need are batteries for the CD player…

Well, let see—oh, before my massage I went for a mile-and-a-bit walk. It is cool and sunny here– absolutely idea for walking. It took me 20 minutes to walk down to the park with no stops, ten minutes rest, and 20 minutes to walk back. After my massage, before I parked the car, I reset the trip meter and drove over the distance I walked. If I walk around the little park, I will have a mile and a half. But I will work up to it. Right now I am pleased with the mile and a bit. I am, of course, still using my cane. Today I parked the big ugly one and used the snazzy purple one that I will use for travel.

I have no physical therapy tomorrow since it is a holiday. The next one is on Wednesday followed by Thursday in the pool. Then it will be the last week before I leave and time for me to run around screaming "Oit of my way—I’ve got to pack!"

I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday weekend!

the clock is ticking. Before we all know it you will be in Italy and will hopefully be able to update us on how your trip over there was. WOOHOO for the snazzy purple cane!!! We still haven’t found a blue one for E. Hugs, M

I have the quote by David Viscott printed and hanging on the bulletin board at work. I always say Nike had something with their “Just Do It” campaign. 🙂

🙂

You are doing great with the walking! I’d be “practice packing” already! ** giggling **

I don’t like to pack too early. I always need what I want to pack. A week will be enough time.:)

Oh, thank you for reminding me that tomorrow is a holday! Yippee!

Do you have a packing list yet? I usually make one for major trips. At least at this point I’d be thinking of all I wanted to pack as I was falling asleep each night. Hugs,

Thanks for the note! You are extremely fit for somebody nearly twenty years older than me! I know about those exercises as I had to do them after having both children, but I will start to do them again to strengthen the muscles.

What a GREAT gift from Fred! I want to teach the kids French this year, and didn’t know where to start, but I hadn’t even thought that Costco might be a good place to start with CDs and DVDs and computer language-learning stuff. Tell Fred that he inspired me! And now you’ll have plenty to listen to on the plane. And if it gets boring, it’ll be perfect to lull you to sleep on the long flight.

Citrinella took my advice! I always make a list, too, before I go on a long trip. It’s easier for me to see what I’ll need for what days. Then on the last day, I can pack the stuff that I couldn’t ahead of time.

That’s a very thoughtful gift from Fred! I’m the same way with packing. I like to be prepared well in advance for big trips. Of course the last “big trip” was coming to North Carolina to see J. 🙂

What a sweetie Fred is!!!!! Course, I knew that, but it’s uplifting for me to see him in action! Packing is not my favorite thing. I usually end up with far more than I needed, and in spite of my best intentions, leave something home that I really wanted/needed. I don’t envy you this task. Love ya! ~M

I can’t believe it is coming up that fast. Wow.

I’d like to see the snazzy purple cane 🙂

Saw your name on another diary so I thought I would come by. Italy is a beautiful country. I lived there for 2 years when my husband was in the military. That purple cane sounds really snazzy. I found many italians do know English but its always good to learn the important words. That was nice of your husband to buy the cds for you
