The Rest of the Day with Edit

Well, nothing from Nichole {Italian instructor} as yet. But even if she says no to me redoing the raccontino, I have lost nothing by asking. EDIT: Just got email from her and she said I CAN have my draft back on Tuesday and she will take the story on Thursday! WHEEE! {rushes off to orchestrate world-wide fireworks to celebrate}

I have almost finished my translation of the story Nichole wrote for this week and now have only to write six questions and answers about the story in Italian. Tomorrow I will work on the assignments in the grammar book. This  tends to take up a fair amount of time so I need to start it early in the morning.  And there is something else I have to do but I can’t remember it. I have done the weekly web page assignment. This week it is to find a menu in Italian for a restaurant in Sicily, my assigned region. There are some questions we answer about these web pages every week–the same questions but, of course, a different subject every week. I am actually getting quite interested in Sicily as I find out more about it. This is the area upon which I will be giving my one-minute oral report in a week or two {Gulp!} Ok, enough italian stuff…

A week or so ago, I made the comment that I was going to get my hair cut. Well, I am still going to get my hair cut and I have the intention of getting this done tomorrow. I usually try to get it done on a Thursday when it is two dollars cheaper but for some reason I keep forgetting to go there on the Thursday and so I have decided that I can afford two extra dollars! This is not one of those places where you have to make an appointment. This is a walk-in place. I really don’t worry about my hair being ruined because I am fortunate in that it is practically impossible to give me a bad haircut! My hair has a lot of natural body and usually decides where it wants to go itself. All I do is give it a good brushing, fluff it around with my fingers and I am done!
I have freecycled three big trash bags of fall and winter clothing so far since Thursday, and I feel very good about this. I have been holding onto some sweaters my sister gave me when she was alive, but, as I told Fred, if I haven’t warn them for three years, why am I keeping them? It feels good to pass  them on to women who can get good use out of them. But I have still not unearthed where my sweat shirts are. This is a good time of year to wear them and I have a really pretty yellow Laurel Burch one I got at a very good price on Ebay last year…

Until later….

I understand keeping things you don’t use. When my Gram died I got all of her yarn but I can’t bear to use it incase I make a mistake and end up wasting a bit of it. <3 Annie-Rae

Yay on the Italian assignment… now you’ll get an A for sure. 😀 I wish I was so lucky with my hair. I have good volume and texture, but the styles I end up with are frequently not very attractive. The one on my gym ID scares me to death! LOL!

I have shed many tears over bad haircuts or bad perms over the years. You are very lucky to have “bouncin’ and behavin'” hair! Yay for understanding teachers! Now, don’t put off doing it and forget again!

What I would give to have a lot of natural body in my hair!!! mine is straight as a board and will barely hold a perm! UGH!!! I just have a lot of natural body everywhere else!!! And too much at that! LOL Have a great weekend!!! M

I don’t know about you, but I always feel so *good* after getting rid of stuff via Freecycle… It’s a lighter feeling, but not a wasteful one. It’s awesome to know somebody else out there is getting use from things. Good on you! I’m so glad I found out about Freecycle through you here.

I envy you the good hair. Mine will hang down straight and that is it.

I still wanna see a picture of the haircut. 🙂

I’ve been giving a lot of things to the batter women’s shelter and they are always really appreciated.

The only language I know is Pig Latin…. 🙂 My sister took language and was great at it.

your italian lessons sound very good. I wish my students were as motivated as you too. I understand what you mean about the jumpers. On the other hand, your sister wouldn’t want you keeping them just for the sake of it I’m sure.

ryn, then im sure everyone gets an eyeful 😉 i used to do that in my duplex, with apartments across the street, lol. im sure my neighbors enjoyed the view.

RYN: my mother-in-law once told me that she was going to color her hair until she could stop cold turkey and go from her “natural” red to a perfect silver. I chuckled at the time, but as I see the gray patches gaining over the brown, her idea is sounding more and more brilliant.:-)
