The Rest of the Day

Well, despite my comments in the last entry, I actually didn’t go for a nap at all.

Fred had asked me to leave my car on the street when I got back from class and so I did that. He went up to get a few groceries just about the time I was thinking nap so I decided to wait until he got back. He does the grocery shopping and I put them away. The minute he got back we unloaded the bags into the kitchen and I went straight  out to bring my car off the street. {I am still smarting by having to pay $25 last year and this year it is $10 more!} Then I put the stuff away. By then, I had lost the urge to nap.

I can’t really tell you what I did for the rest of the day but it was nothing productive! Oh, no, I remember–I put all my photographs that were taken at the Italian lesson up on Fototime and sent la prof a link. I CC’d the email to myself to be sure the link was working. When I got it I checked and the link was working but what I had forgotten was that I have all my pictures on that site watermarked with "Patricia’s Pictures" all over them! So, since I had given her permission to snag the pictures off the site, I had to plunder through menus to figure out how to turn them off. The first time I did it, it didn’t seem to work but, eventually I figured out that I have to save any changes! Eventually, I sent her a second email and checked the link out and all seems to be well.

About 4 pm, I started to feel sleepy again but now it is too late in the afternoon to nap if I want to sleep tonight! So, since I am working on walking more, I wnt out for a walk. It was only a short 15 minute walk. However, since I am also trying to get into the habit of putting my pedometer on, and recording steps for today, you will see them at the bottom. Not particularly good but 3000 steps are better than no steps, right?

Number of steps walked today: 3178

Until later….

I like your attitude about things! A short walk is lots better than no walk! I should get a pedometer, though, just for interest’s sake. I’m glad all went well in class…no surprise there! And hope you and Fred have a lovely evening. hugs, Weesprite (who’s been unproductive today also!)

I need to do that walking thing, too. I know that I would feel much, much better if I did!

I had a terrible nap today. I couldn’t fall asleep. I need to be more active physically to help turn off my brain when I want to.

You know, there’s a restaurant chain in the UK called Frankie and Benny’s (you might have seen them when you’ve been back here). They do Italian food and the music they play in the restaurant is all kind of big band, swing stuff. Anyway, when you go into the toilets there’s no music but there’s one of those ‘learn Italian’ CDs playing! So I always go back to the table and recite some phraseto Daphne that I’ve forgotten within minutes!! When you talk about learning Italian it always reminds me of this!

I need to find a nice, simple pedometer for myself. I agree with the other noter about your attitude, it is always cheery and smiling.

We are not allowed to park overnight on the street. We’ve had a few tickets over the years. It makes me so mad!!! Why shouldn’t we be able to park in front of our homes?

At least one of us got out for a walk! Good job! i didn’t walk today. Yesterday i walked two miles instead of three, and again last night my legs and hips were really aching! i just have to go to a podiatrist and find out what type of walking shoe i need. i also should go for regular adjustments with the chiropractor, although my yoga helps….ah, let’s just face it, i’m getting old!

that’s quite a bit short of your old walking habits, isn’t it? At least with no nap you’re bound to sleep well, which I hope you did by the time you read this. 🙂

You were a teacher for people on grade 7, you will go straight to heaven 🙂 Thanks for visiting my OpenDiary. I will try to write there as much as I can, and not only stupid things 🙂 Have a great Wednesday!

it’s raining so no walk for me and merlyn. tomorrow is supposed to be bright and 55 degrees. sounds like a day for a walk to me. take care,

There are times when my truck stays in the driveway for days without ever being moved. That is one of the advantages of being in the city and within walking distance of everything. One of the few times I left my truck parked on the street in front of my house it was destroyed when a drunk student plowed into the back of it at 50 mph. Thank God nobody was hurt. The photos are wonderful…wish I could figure out photoshop. I was able to stumble through an imaging class, but it was on Apple and naturally I have a windows system…

you are definitely getting to be a wiz on the photo site you use. Bravo for you & for the walking.
