The Incredible Bionic Woman…

…is home again! I should have been home yesterday but as well as making my skin itch like crazy, oxycontin made me unbelievably constipated! AND caused me to throw up! So, I spent yesterday morning throwing up and this morning {having refused the oxycontin and been blessed with a cute little suppository} ummm, NOT throwing up!

Ahyway, I am home. The scar is hurting very little but occasionally the maneuvers I have to go through not too tear the ball out of the socket give me acute cramp in my butt muscles. All I can do is to let out a scream and try to relax them…

I have some blood-thinning stuff to inject into my stomach, some coumadin to swallow regularly and since tylenol seems to be keep the surgety pain at bay, I intend to stay off the oxycontin unless I am in agony… I am limping around with a walker and the day I am able to wash my hair will be announced as a world-wide holiday!

I’m glad your home, but the oxycontin sounds yucky. You’ll be up and around painfree before you know it!

June 23, 2007

I’m so happy to hear that you’re home and doing well. I’m with you on the pain meds. All of it makes me vomit, even when I need it. It should all just keep getting better from here. Love to you! ~M

So glad to hear you are home and yes, well aware of the blood thinners in the stomach (not much fun) and the coumdin one has to take. I do hope your recovery is swift.

Glad you’re home. 🙂

Welcome back home. 🙂

🙂 glad you are home and that everything went well. Yes, the worst thing about surgery, beyond the pain, is the lack of hair washing. Makes you realise how much we take for granted really.

I’m signed in under the wrong name, but when I saw your name lit up I had to come and visit! I’m so happy that you are doing well, and I can just imagine the butt … uh… glute cramps. Some of those muscles attach to that “bone” and are probably not too happy with the whole thing right now. Glad you’re back with us!

So glad to hear you are home and moving around nicely. I can’t believe how fast you are recooperating.

June 23, 2007

I’m surprised they didn’t give you a transdermal pain patch like Fentanyl instead of an oral painkiller. Much more effective, and fewer side-effects. Talk to your doctor about some alternatives. Glad to see you home and doing well!

So glad you are home and can get by on Tylenol.

Couldn’t wait to get home to the computer tonight, to see if you were OK. Hurrah!

I’m so glad that you were able to come home today. There’s no place like home, eh Patricia? Those shots in the stomach do not sound pleasant. A little bird mentioned that you’ve had a bit of toast and marmite. Rest well.

Welcome back. Fred has been missing you.

June 23, 2007

Wow, you have a lot of notes! Glad that the operation went well. Oxycontin is an opiate, and I know that opiates make you constipated. Best not to use it unless you have to as it’s very addictive!

I am so glad that you are home! You can give your doc a call (he or an associate is on call) and tell them that it has a horrible effect on you, they should and can prescribe something different for you. Proper pain management will help you heal faster. I’m impressed that you are doing so well. Good to see you again!

June 24, 2007

I’m glad to hear you’re home again. Fred was keeping us well informed of your progress but at the same time it was plain that he was missing you a lot. I hope your recovery is quick and you heal up fast – especially if the counter on your page is correct and you will be in Italy in a little under 3 months!

Being in the comfort of one’s home is half the cure. Fred did a wonderful job keeping us updated. Welcome back! frank
