The Class Today

There were only four people in class this morning!

I feel as if I did well on the test. The first part was a list of phrases to translate like "mia madre" {my mother} and "la tua cugina" which is your {female} cousin. . This was pretty straightforward and I will be very surprised if i didn’t do well. The next part was a family tree in pictures. There were Signor and Signora Rossi who had a son and a daughter. Both children were married and the Rossis had five grandchildren. All these people had names. Then there were fifteen questions about the relationships to which we had to write V {vero} or F {falso.} The hardest part was to correct all the false statements in Italian and in sentences. There were, of course, more false than true sentences!

The lesson today was mostly on verb tenses. I will not attempt to sum up what we did because I am still trying to assimilate it all. Homework is to translate a raccontino written by la prof where she uses a lot of these verb forms. However, she has included a vocabulary sheet which is helpful. We translated about a third of it in class before we ran out of time!

Until later….

Your professor sounds very good. It also sounds like you did a nice job on the test. I was a little worried (not a lot) that you may not have gotten to study enough.
