Thanks

I grew up in England  so Thanksgiving Day is not of any great importance to me. However, I do think it is important to be thankful about Good Things in my life so that is what I am going to do, in no particular order and just as they occur to me.

  • I am thankful for the excellent physical therapy Fred is getting in rehabilitation and especially for the fact that he is working hard at it even though he is frustrated because changes  seem to be going slowly to him.
  • Odd though it may sound, I am thankful for the bad childhood I had because I learned to get away from everything through reading. I didn’t really mind that I slept very little at night in the five days I was in hospital because for a long time, I have looked on insomnia as more time to read.
  • I am thankful for eggs and toast-and-Marmite which is what I had for breakfast this morning.
  • I am thankful that when I run out of food, I have enough money to go buy some more.
  • I am thankful for all my electronics and the fact that although I have to save a couple of months for some of them, I can afford to buy them.
  • I am grateful that my father took me to the bank to make my first deposit in a savings account. Because of him and his conviction  that regular saving is important, I have always, even in the leanest times, been a regular saver. There have been times that I could only save 10 dollars a month, but it mounts up.
  • I am thankful that even though my health is not top-notch, I can still drive and get around and get all my needs and even some some of my wants!

I hope everyone is having or will have a good Thanksgiving Day. I will be eating lunch with Fred in the rehab place and when I come home I will be playing with the Kindle Fire some more.

Nice entry! Tell Fred I said Happy Thanksgiving, and that one of the things I’m thankful for is that he’s doing so much better! And you, Miss Btit, enjoy your day! I’m thankful for YOU too! Love ya! ~M

I think I became a reader for much the same reasons. There is much to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving!

Did you have the marmite and toast with the eggs or separately? It actually sounds quite an attractive combination.

I have marmite on toast every day with breakfast too…possibly because I am also english by birth. *smiles*. Yes, we all have much to be thankful for, whether we celebrate America’s thanksgiving or not. have a good day. hugs P

Lovely entry! And yes, we do need to stop once in while and be grateful for all that we do have. Many continued prayers for both you and Fred.

Wishing you both the very best, stopped by because I wanted to check on you two–glad Fred’s rehab is going well. I’d say reading is to be thankful for and your bad childhood is not, myself–people with good childhoods learned to read and love it, of course, too. All children deserve good childhoods, but not all are given them, I know.
