Sunday Morning

There are times whan I get really annoyed with Fred and mostly I say nothing. I figure if he wants to be a stubborn old coot, it is his business and his right. But today I really lost it and let him know what I was thinking.

He is having a lot of trouble sleeping for more than a couple of hours day or night. So I suggested that he might ask Nikki {visiting nurse who will be here on Monday} to ask his doctor for some sleeping pills as a temporary solution and to get his body back into the habit of sleeping all through the night. You would have thought I suggested he ask for cyanide to be taken twice a day until dead! After he had made it quite clear he was not even going to think about it, I lost my cool and used the words “stubborn” and “idiotic” and “man” in the same sentence. His reply? “I am going back to bed now.”

Right!

Well, moving on. I am once again pissed off by Unicel. My phone is set up so that when the money level falls to $10, there is an automatic credit for more added to the account. Well, that is the way it is supposed to be set up. I wanted to make a phone call yesterday and the voice said I had no more money in the account so if I wanted to make a call, I was fu*ked up! Well, not in these words exactly! I called Unicel and was put on hold for 15 minutes on one of those annoying lines where Muzak is played and a voice assures you at regular intervals that your call is important to them. Bah! I am off to their local office tomorrow and since this is the second time this has happened, I will make it quite clear that if they want to keep my {admittedly low} business, it had better not happen again!

OK, there is some good stuff in my life {albeit not a lot. But every little counts, right?}

  • At the moment and in this part of Vermont, there is very little snow and it is easy to walk and drive
  • This morning I walked for 40 minutes at a brisk pace and had a lovely time. There was sunshine and music and, quite serendipitously, the last music that took me home and up the stairs was the “Star Wars” theme reminding me that I have these movies coming–my first addition to my DVD collection!
  • This afternoon, Bill {Fred’s good-hearted and talkative friend} is coming and I can get out for another massage. A few hours away is exactly what I need. The massage is lagniappe…

Until later…

there comes a time when you’ve just got to tell a stubborn, idiotic man what’s what. they usually won’t listen but maybe they’ll think about what you said. good for you for walking this morning. a massage will be icing on the cake! take care,

What is it with men and taking medicine? You just want to smack them upside da head.

If the massage doesn’t work come on down to campus. Maybe what these piglets need is an x-teacher of seventh graders to straighten them out. Might work out some general vexation emotions at the least. 🙂

I bet the walk was AFTER you told Fred how you felt. *huggs* Happy Massaging!

Good show! Sometimes, people really do need to hear that they are being silly. Maybe he will think seriously about it. I hope that you have a great massage.

That is the trouble with holding your tongue, at some point we snap Glad you enjoyed your walk Best Wishes

enjoy your massage!!!

Sometimes it takes awhile for them to see things our way. But even then it has to seem like their own idea. Hope the massage soothes you.

Nobody could fault you for blowing your top once in a while. After all, you’re under a lot of stress caring for him and if he’s going to complicate the matter with being obstinate or contrary, oh well, he’ll have to suffer the wrath of Hurricane Patrisha now and again 🙂 Your walk sounds glorius. Good for you!

GOOD FOR YOU! If someone’s being Impossible, he needs to be told so, flat-out. (Too bad you didn’t say “well you might go back to BED, but you’ll not go back to SLEEP, because you keep me awake half the night by not sleeping!” Ain’t I awful?) Your words to him will probably sink in eventually; I hope so! I’m glad it’s good walking weather and glad you get that massage! hugs, Weesprite

Let’s hear it for Bill!

The words “stubborn” and “idiotic” and “man” BELONG in the same sentence together!!! LOL! I’m glad that you are ready to straighten him out on a few things. Maybe the doctor will prescribe a pill so YOU can sleep through the night! LOL!

Men. Menmenmenmen. You have my condolences, and I am very glad that Bill is coming over to spend time — you need those breaks! Many hugs and warm thoughts.

might be a good diea to keep him awake during the day so he’s really really sleepy at night???
