Sunday
Today I have been motivated and pretty busy. First, I did the usual morning computer stuff–read email, read news groups and read Open Diary. While I was doing this, I also ate a bowl of Fred’s Famous Oatmeal and drank my morning cup of coffee.
Next, I put away a huge pile of clean dishes from yesterday and washed the ones that Fred used to cook the pork roast and that we used last night when we ate the said pork roast, potatoes, home-made apple sauce, gravy and salad. What took the longest time was cleaning up the top of the stove. Fred is an excellent cook but does not clean up spills as he cooks. I am not complaining {much} because I don’t really mind cleaning up. Mind you, he had spilled something {gravy?} on the kitchen floor that I just cleaned up in spots. To get it all off, I will have to mop the floor. Tomorrow maybe…
Next, I went for a 30 minute walk which I really enjoyed. The temperature was in the twenties, but this is so much better than the minus temperatures we have had for the past couple of weeks. I put the IPod on and did 30 brisk minutes. I got home at about noon which gave me time to have a light lunch before going for my fortnightly massage. This is a 90 minute massage and I am usually gone about two and a half hours. This was the first massage I have been to since Fred has had the surgery that I felt ok leaving him alone. This is a big step forward for both of us but especially for me…
I got home, backed into my parking spot off the road {which is not all that easy because there are two other cars and a big truck in a very small area} and came indoors where I proceeded to vegetate for the rest of the afternoon. I had really good intentions but they didn’t translate into either the treadmill or another walk outside. Maybe tomorrow I will get in a second walk. At the end of February, I will have maintained my weight loss for six months. I am contemplating losing at least another 10 pounds and possibly going for 15. This means eat less and move more. Hmmm…
Now I am sitting on the bed using my laptop and listening to Fred getting up peridodically to walk around the table, do his leg exercises and walk on the treadmill for a minute at a time.
Until later…
my friend and I started a weight loss challenge together. it just started yesterday. i wish i was motivated enough to walk in 20 degree weather…its amazing how thats warmer for you and freezing for me…maybe tomorrow. my dog LOVES walks. 😀

Hello Patrisha ~ I’ve been lurking and reading your diary but haven’t said hello. So, hello. :0) Sounds like a very nice New Englandly day. How wonderful that you get regular massages. Good for you!

I’m finally starting to see some weight loss at long last. (Knock wood!) I’ve been vigilant in what I eat (this palm program really is helpful) and I make sure that the exercise I get is aerobic as well as strengthening and stretching. I think the aerobic is what put me over the top because nothing before that seemed to have much affect.

I’m curious about what kind of music you play on your ipod.

Congrats on your weight loss. That is wonderful! Glad to read that Freds excercies are going so well. It’s a long, hard road, but, I am glad that things are getting back to normal for the both of you. Take care, and have a wonderful day.
