Stuff
- This afternoon I got a phone call giving me the news that Carol’s mother had died. Carol is a friend from the book club. She didn’t come to the meeting on Tuesday because her mother, who was 100 years old, was in hospital. She was a lively lady. In her middle ninties, she went to get her car safety sticker and when she was told her car wouldn’t pass the test, went out and bought herself another car.
- We keep hearing we are getting snow but none so far. I am not complaining.
- This morning I walked on the treadmill with music but, on the whole, I think I prefer to read. The music is fine when I am outside aned can fit my steps to the beat but the treadmill goes at its own speed.
- In more treadmill news, I managed to get it to tell me the speed I was walking. I started at 1.4 mph and went up to 2.1 mph. I can’t tell you how far I went but after the walk I got the book and discovered how to make the information cycle through all the possibilites. It will show me mph, calories and speed on one side. On the other it shows incline, pulse and, errr, something else I can’t remember! Distance I think.
- Yesterday, I definitely felt the effect of exercise in my left buttock but this morning, I felt fine and there is no pain now. Of course, I didn’t walk as long today — just under 10 minutes.
- Tomorrow I need to get out so I think I will do a little retail therapy!

Since you are such a technofile I am quite sure you will find some synch with this. The few times I’ve tried treadmills the thunking vibrations of walking were so jarring it was offputting. Then again this was ages ago. Advances of technology and your own expertise could easily overcome this methinks. Thought of you watching a fun Johnny English video by Rowan Atkinson. Fondly,

We should all live to be 100 years old. God bless her.

That’s the kind of old lady I want to be…active to the end. My grandma was great that way, as is my landlady. You’d never know she just turned 80! And you, of course. 🙂 You’re always an inspiration, even though you’re NOT old yet.
