Son of “I Am Back!”

Well, we are finally set up properly with a DSL connection that works as fast as it should be working! Today I got a new modem from Verizon, and before I could call the man who was helping me last time, he called me! I spent a lot of time crawing around under the desk unplugging and plugging things.  Then there were lots of settings that had to be changed on my computer because MY computer is the one in charge!  The crawling around on the floor wasn’t too hard but what  really hurt was getting up, so, helpfully Fred came and sat in my computer chair and when I need to get up, he gave me an arm to lean on and a strong-arm boost! {Between us we make one good strong person! } Then, when all this tweaking was over and everything was checked,  the man said he would call on Friday to make sure it is still working as it should. I am both amazed and impressed!Italian—well, today I got back a couple of pieces of homework and a test and one was an A minus and the others were A pluses! So, I guess so far, I have an A! {Of course, all you longtime readers know I am not working for grades! } I am still floundering but, I have to say, not as much as some of the people in class. Which is not to say much because we are all floundering… The instructor keeps assuring us that it will get easier. One thing I particularly enjoy is that she encourages us to guess at the meanings of words and I am good at this because I have an excellent vocabulary and many Italian words can be linked with English words. And for those who can’t, she encourages us to come up with mnemonics.

Ok, I am off to read favorites and then to Italian homework. We have our third little story to write using some words we salvaged from the song "volare! ". Oh, and Amazon sent my book , the one I need for class, but they sent the wrong book so I guess I will have to do something about that!

Until later….

I am sure you are sick and tired of having businesses doing the wrong thing (not showing up and sending wrong books), but at last you have your FAST DSL! Awesome! Enjoy it and congrats on the good grades!

RYN: I’m totally open to suggestions on brands for bread machines 🙂 I will let you know if this woman’s mom has one for sale. It’s entirely possible it will be too expensive for my budget, but I’ll let you know. 🙂

Your doing great I bet in Italian. Your so sharp. I think it’s great that you are continuing to learn new things. My Aunt Nancy was still going to colledge in her eighties. She had her teaching degree. I don’t think she was teaching still. I love to learn and I hope I give both my children that love also. Blessings.

Woohoo! Finally.

Yeah or High Speed Internet!!!

Glad the DSL is finally up and running correctly. I doubt we will ever have it available where we live. 😛 Oh well, c’est la vie

I don’t know how not to care about “A”s.

I just spoke with the teacher whose mother has the bread maker for sale. She wants much more for it than I can afford in the near (or even relatively near) future. 🙂 Yay poor counselor!

They should give you free internet for a year for putting up with all their crap! Alot of other customers wouldn’t stick with them!

I envy you – I absolutely loved Italian at school & college – I still have my college textbook – can’t bear to part with it! I went back to classes years ago then got pregnant with Nikki so stopped just before she was born but taking classes again is definitely on my list of things to do before I die – visiting Italy is another – especially Venice.
