So….

So, today I have :

  • taken three short walks using the cane — morning, afternoon and evening
  • sat outside on the deck to read
  • done the standing exercises. I decided it was more sensible to do the hard ones –the ones where I have to put my full weight on the operated left leg–first. And early in the morning…
  • done the lying in bed exercises
  • had a lovely one-hour nap
  • called Beth and cancelled the massage scheduled for this weekend. I also tentatively set up a massage for the first Sunday after I am cleared to drive which will hopefully be in a little less than three weeks.
  • watched reruns of ER and Judging Amy
  • talked to my neighbors and to our landlord while I was out walking

Some day I will write about something that is not connected to the total hip replacement!

How wonderful that you took three walks! :o) !! It’s funny; I got up this morning, planning to take a nap today, but I never took one. It’s only when I don’t plan on it that I just fall asleep! hugs, Weesprite

well, a total hip replacement is a huge deal. Only natural you’d write about it a lot right now.

I think you walked more than I did today and there’s a bit of an age difference there! 🙂

You’re doing so well!!! I bet you’re enjoying getting out in the sunshine again! Hugs, M

I love hearing about your fast recovery! It won’t be long before you won’t even remember to write about it because it feels so good! (((Hugs)))

You’re doing great! Someday I will write about something other than being bloated up with CO2!!!

The chats with the neighbors and the TV shows probably would have happened whether or not you had a hip replacement …. I think you’re living a more normal life than you’re giving yourself credit for.

🙂 you are doing fantastically! its great to hear how well you are doing.

🙂

You are doing so well. I’m tickled about how well you are doing, actually. You might find that the more you can get your mind off of your hip (which is much easier said than done) the faster it will heal. Yeah. Really, I’m serious.
