Snow and Other Stuff

My desk top computer has been making funny noises and not completely booting up. I had it on all the time for about a week but last night, in an absent-minded moment. I turned it off. So, of course, naturally, it wouldn’t boot up this morning. When it did, first it couldn’t find the keyboard and the next time, it had lost the mouse! So, finally, I booted it up one more time and then walked away from it! See if *I* care! And, of course, when I came back, it was fine. I had a keyboard, I had a mouse and all was well!

Most of today, I haven’t done anything. I did go out and get the snow off both our cars in a half-hearted sort of way. this means that I got most of the snow off except on the top of the car where I left it! A sort of snow hat if you will! Our landlord was home today because he ate some catered food at the party where he works and had food poisoning! He is supposed to keep the snow cleared away and hasn’t been doing it. Well, he has been cleaning snow off the steps and the deck but not where we park. I am actually wondering if I am going to be able to get my car out because there is a foot of snow behind the back tires! Fred has said he will take me to physical therapy tomorrow but I need to take myself to the bank some time before Sunday and on Sunday I will be getting a massage.

Today I made scones and we ate them all day! {Scone picture and recipe here. }These scones are round because they are English scones which break open very easily for jam and clotted cream! Not that we have any of that stuff and I couldn’t eat anything more than a bare minimum if we had it. It has so much fat that it does a number on my digestive system. And I also discovered today when I was looking for jam to put a teaspoon in the yogurt that all we have is ginger jam and bitter orange marmalade! No strawberry and no raspberry.! But ginger jam was very nice mixed in with the yogurt.

The scones look so good, I may have to make some soon! And chocolate…oh my!

Your scones look sort of like biscuits. Except biscuits don’t have eggs and raisins. And ginger jam sounds YUMMY. I’ve never heard of that before.

Made muffins today, these are not like scones, but Mom liked them. I will keep your recipe.

Computers are like bad children! I often have to put a dunce cap on mine. Gee, your landlord had better start clearing the snow like he’s supposed to! Perhaps you will have to speak to him about it! hugs, Weesprite

I had a raspberry white chocolate scone while on vacation and it was heavenly….even though I didn’t think chocolate scones would be any good 😉

RYN: Of course! 🙂 I’m so glad you like the wrap. And I will use your testimonial of course.

Ummm I’m with Fred…chocolate.

yummy on the scones. Now this isn’t nice from the landlord to say the least. We always shovel for the neighbor next to us who is an elderly lady. She never asks, but we do it anyway. And in an area where snow is always there (VT), this is a must!

Computers are always playing cruel tricks on humans, I think. 😉

There is something sublime about scones with strawberry jam. Hope you two stay safe in the snow, we’re buried here.

My kids were complaining about the lack of strawberry or raspberry jam just yesterday. All we have is some mixed wild berry jam that a friend calls “holy jelly” because it was made with the berries that went to church on a feast day and were blessed, and some sort of gin jam in which there’s alcohol that was added after the heat so it didn’t cook off. I don’t know why I have this, as we aren’t drinkers here. It does make toast a bit discouraging, this tart jam instead of sweet stuff. I wonder what ginger jelly is really like?
