Short Update

Today has been a very odd day. I got up at 5 am and went back to bed at 7 am, Then I got up at 9 am. The whole day has been getting away from me. At about 2 pm, I thought it was around noon! Anyway, I got most of my CDs into the IMac and some music into the nano.

I have just discovered Naomi Navik’s Temeraire series. It is a sort of alternate Napoleonic history with dragons! The hero is a British sea captain who takes a French ship capture and on it is a dragon’s egg. The war against the French uses dragons as well as ships and soldiers. I like alternate histories when done well and this one is done very well. I have already downloaded the second book onto the Kindle. However, I need to skim over Cranford again before the book club meeting tomorrow.

Although the wind was very strong this morning, by this afternoon it had died down to a normal breeze and turned cool again. Right now it is 60 and we are supposed to have sunshine and a high of around 67 tomorrow. My kind of day!

I like days when a person can just sleep and get up, sleep and get up, however s/he feels like doing! :o) !! Yesterday I tried to nap, but my silly neighbors came knocking on my door and wouldn’t ever stop knocking!!!!! I finally had to get up and go to the door because they were literally pounding on it and hollering my name! I loved the Temeraire series, and I am really looking forward to more from the author. Cranford was pretty good too, and I was pleased to find out that there were two more novels connected together with it.
