Sheesh!

You wouldn’t believe how ready I am for this year to be over.

First there was Fred’s bladder infection and his time rehab. Then there was me with my blood-in-poop and five days in hospital and now, this morning I woke up to see the ceiling spinning and my stomach rebelling! Well, of course, I knew what it was and what to do about it. It was Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo and I have had it several times before. And that’s another annoying thing. Most people who have it, have it once and never again. I am not keeping track per se, but I have definitely had it more than once and that is for this year!

Anyway, having had it more than once, I know what to do about it. I have medication that calms my stomach and medication that puts me to sleep. I DID do the exercises first with a lot of sotto voce whining and complaining because at first they make me feel worse, but eventually I fell asleep and woke up about 3 pm cured!  And I did remember to call Fred and tell him before I took the medication what was going on so he wouldn’t worry when I didn’t turn up to see him. Actually, it was a good thing I called him because I had quite got it into my head that my visit to the doctor to have my breathing checked out was tomorrow, and it is actually on Wednesday. I now feel as if I have lost a day and I hope I will be able to sleep tonight!

Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.

I hope when you wake up tomorrow morning it is a much better day!!

I hope you do feel better when you wake up. Perhaps it is stress induced?

That vertigo thing sounds most unpleasant! The only times I have had that experience were when I’d been drinking too much, and it is MOST unfair that anyone should have it without doing anything whatsoever to bring it on! I am glad you knew what to do about it and woke up at 3 p.m. cured! hugs, Nicky

Well if it isn’t one thing, it’s another! I had to look up that BPPV for Thorn’s cousin’s kid the other day and found it quite interesting. I wonder if you do the same “exercise” that I found on YouTube. It’s good to know that it works!

yuck! If it’s not one thing it’s another!!

Oh, my mom just got over a bout of vertigo that had her ‘off her feed’ for several weeks. Do you do the exercise where you sit on the side of the bed, then turn to the side and bend from the waist to touch your nose to the bed. Repeat to the other side? My mom swears this is the best cure they gave her.

your year of such awful scary illnesses must have seemed so long. I am struggl;ing with a serious bladder infection right now myself….even blood in urine. It sure can give one a fright! But I have powerful antibiotics. Only a month to go now till 2012……and that will go even quicker I am sure. hugs to you both P

You’ve really had enough to contend with this year – just think – next year can’t possibly be worse – it’ll be someone else’s turn! RYN: I’m so glad you got a chuckle out of the album – I’m just sorry it wasn’t a bit more creative!

I too am ready for this year to be over. It’s been a year from hell here on our end, and I know it’s not been much better on yours. Here’s hoping for a happy , healthy new year for all of us! Hugs,M
