Progress Report

Ok, I just realized that apart from the 3 am entry, I haven’t written today. So, thoughts as they occur:

  • the nurse came and took blood. My coumadin levels are 3.9 which, I was told was too high. I am out of the 5 mg pills so none tonight and back on to 2.5 mg tomorrow.
  • I just realized today that tomorrow is only TWO weeks since surgery. I really thought it was three!
  • I am doing VERY well with physical therapy. Jen came in and took me through everything plus added one more standing exercise.
  • Guess what! On Thursday when Jen comes back again, I am going to get to go outside and walk! Honestly, I am really excited! Of course, I will still be using the walker but hey, I am getting out of the house after over two weeks!
  • the only bad part is that I will have to put some shorts on over my panties!

Ok, time to eat and the watch mindless television.

Woohoo! Outdoors! The cabin fever must be setting in right about now. LOL! Fresh air! Sunshine! Squirrels! 😀

Just wrap a big scarf around your waist and call it a sarong. HOw totally Island would that be with your walker and matching bikini top. You are going to wear a bikini top, right? 😉

You’re doing great! I remember they had my MIL up and walking inside the hospital very quickly, too.

I know how glad you are to be planning the first post-op walk.

Take it slow and you will soon be back to normal.

you are doing so well! do you have a skirt you could get on over your head?

Oh, going outside will seem so good to you. Laughing at the panties! When I had my surgery 3yrs ago and had such a huge incision I couldn’t stand for even panties to be on as the incision was left open. When I had to go back to wearing them they were so uncomfortable to me. LOL Glad PT is going so well!!! Hugs, M

I hope your weather is a bit better than ours and you enjoy your little trip outside!

i have no idea of the recovery time involved but it seems to me that you are doing it in record time!! raymond has been watching mindless tv now for over 3 months. it’ll be good when he gets back to work… if his mind isn’t mush by then!!! take care,

It is so good to read of your good progress. This entry triggered a memory of a book written in the early 1970’s by a man who was forced to watch daytime TV non-stop for several weeks. His descriptions of my favourite soap at the time General Hospital was priceless!!

you had me laughing at the shorts over panties comment. I just didn’t expect that at the end. And you’re doing wonderful, only 2 weeks! Awesome!
