Plans for the Day*
- I cannot believe how much better I feel this morning! I was aware I didn’t feel completely OK yesterday but I slogged on getting a bit of box opening done. But I feel normal this morning, not tired and not in pain.
- Have I mentioned I love my memory foam mattress?
- Talking about box opening, I have opened all the boxes that were stacked in the kitchen and still no utensils! I am surviving with a plastic spoon and knife and fork. Another thing that is in a box somewhere else is my food processor. I have the blade but nothing else. Oh, and both my crock pots are in a box hiding somewhere else! And my kettle!
- A thought for today: Opening boxes is not difficult. Finding a place for what comes out of the boxes is not always easy…
- Well, I am officially here since I made an order to Amazon last night having a step stool sent to this address! {So far I have had my Very Tall Son put stuff on the top shelf of the cupboards but I think it might be somewhat of an imposition to call him to drive 13 miles one way when I need to get things down from there!)
- I have every hope that my car might arrive today. Even though the phone message was garbled, I did hear the word "car" in there!
- Today I need to put away the stuff cluttering the kitchen counter and open the boxes marked "Lamps." {Maybe I will find utensils in there!)
- Jake mentioned us going out for lunch today. Hmm, maybe not lunch since I need to stay in to see if my car arrives. Perhaps dinner…
- I need my wireless mouse which I think I left at Jake’s house.
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}
Everytime I’ve moved, I always thought I would pack everything away in the right box, label it, and then upon opening, I’d find what I need. No such luck though! Since we have been contemplating moving & looking at houses, I have had the urge to downgrade everything and start tossing & freecycling & selling.

It will be interesting to hear where you finally find your utensils, your crock pots, etc.! I am so glad you’re feeling good today! :o) hugs, Nicky

I am only 5’1″ and after a lifetime of having to get my (ex) husband to get things off of cabinet shelves for me, or hauling a chair over to the cabinet, I bought myself a little step stool for my kitchen. I can hardly believe I didn’t get one years ago — I use it all the time! It’s frustrating when you can’t find things you need in the boxes. Eventually they all show up but in the meantime it’s hard. The last time I moved I had the luxury of it being not very far away AND I had several days of overlap where I had access to both places — I moved my whole kitchen and bathroom in before I even moved into the new place. What a luxury that was.

I find it interesting that you need a step-stool, because I know you are taller than I am and I only need a chair when I put stuff on top of the cupboards. It’s like a treasure hunt, finding the utensils! Wonder where they’ll turn up.

Lol, unpacking is always an adventure! Glad you are enjoying your new place:) I may have to look into a memory foam mattress when we start looking to replace ours.

i think things move from box to box when they are in the truck on the way to the new home. i’ve had to get a 3 step ladder for me to get to my top shelves. won’t be long til you have everything where you want it. will be nice for you to have your car again. hope it comes soon. take care,
