Pictures

a photograh that came out blurred converted into a paintinga photograph manipulated to look like a drawing

This is the kind of thing I really enjoy doing with photographs. This photograph was taken in a bad light and also he moved a little just as I was taking it. When I first saw it, I thought it looked a little like the first layer of a painting. So, with some help from Paint Shop Pro 9, I made it into a painting.

The photo on the right came out very well and so I used a filter called “pencil sketch” and then manipulated it more using layers to look like Conte crayon… I really like the textured paper effect.

I’m guessing the above was an embossing effect? Do you have a digital camera? Because you can do a super great job with the artistry of photography, but perhaps you’re way ahead of me and do practice it. I really like your diary. 🙂 — Mark

I’m an idiot. “Pencil sketch.” Looked like an embossed but radically altered coloring. Sorry. — Mark

Lovely, so amazing what one can do on a computer with a good program. Does it take a lot to learn?

April 26, 2005

I really like what you’ve done! I like to play around with stuff like that too–really gets some good results.

the woman on the right looks like Catherine Deneuve ? I love the way our new technologies activate our artistic abilities, making things easier too.Love your results! // Bought myself a new PC recently with new pgms (had an old thing for years not compatible with many things) but I don’t have Paint Shop Pro – is that a free load or do I have to buy it? I have WinXP and MS Photo Premium >>>

April 26, 2005

… or maybe I should look on the CD of my scanner, maybe there’s more pgms there. I think the new OD look has pushed us to be more inspired too!

It’s amazing what they can do with pictures now. We all know the secret to those magazine covers. They have been enhanced and none of those women are that perfect!!
